Questions about the Trucks/Haynes era ABB

Instant Live of Wanee Festival, 4-13-2007 is a personal favorite of mine, and I was there. Opens with a scorching hot Les Brers In A Minor, best version I have EVER heard, and the show just does not let up for 2-1/2 hours. I highly recommend this one.
I don't see this one offered as an Instant Live on MunckMusic?

Sort of a official release (professionally recorded anyway), Then Again Live - Eat A Peach from 2004:

Hey Slyckyr – That link you provided goes to an old thread…the last post in that thread was from 9 years ago…is there still a way to get a copy of this? I’m watching/listening to it on youtube now. Thank you!

As much as I respect Warren, Derek and Otiel, this line up (and any other line up) does not match the original band. Maybe it was because everybody was young and in good health despite the drug use, but the energy, originality, level of playing IS the high water mark for the ABB. Well the original band IS the Allman Brothers in every way you look at it. All other line ups it trying to pay homage to the original lineup and keep the band fresh. But NONE equaled the original.
Put on Fillmore East or the live cuts from Eat a Peach and compare that to ANY thing from this line up.... even on One Way Out the album or Wipe the Windows or An Evening With 1st and 2nd sets and instantly you see the original band had fire, energy and a groove that tops the Warren, Derek line up and any other. And that is big talk because the Warren/Derek and the Jack/Dickey and the Warren/Dickey and the Dickey/Chuck line ups are better than most bands.
Yes for you young ABB fans who don't remember the original band, they WERE that good. The ABSOLUTE high water mark for ANY version of the Allman Brothers.
The Warren/Derek line up NEVER equaled the Liz Reed on Fillmore. Never equaled the One Way Out or the Trouble No More that is on Eat a Peach or equaled the Blue Sky that the original line up does on that live set on the archive S.O.N.Y.brook set.
Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Gregg Allman, Butch Truck and Jaimoe IS the real deal Allman Brothers!!
It's a shame Duane and Berry got killed and Dickey became a shell of himself. And you can say the same in a way about Gregg.
If they had lived and Dickey and Gregg stayed off the dope and booze, the original band may still be together. All senior citizens and probably not what they used to be. But they would be the Allman Brothers Band. Not any of the later lineups.
No one is saying that the Derek/Warren lineup (or any other lineup) could match the original lineup with Duane and Dickey.

I wasn't asked - but I would say that. More extensive repertoire, a second viable front man, and Derek Trucks on guitar. Understand that much of said repertoire and the template don't exist without the originals. But we stand on the shoulders of giants. In terms of pure performance, I have no issue saying that at its best the last lineup could match the original. Also understand that opinion will not be terribly popular -haha.

robertdee likes to ramble off topic, I wouldn't think much of it. Comparing different lineups is fun, but no need to defend seeking out this great music.

Get the final show Redfish.
There is a question I've been wondering about for a long time... When did the Oteile introduction to "Rocking Horse" first appear? I've been trying to track it down through my Instant Lives with no luck.
Anyone know?
I think that version started at UP 2010.
The 1st time I saw them play it that way was at the Orpheum December 2010
fwiw, one of my favorite shows of that era, and definitely favorite attended, was 3/08/13. 2nd set Blue Sky, Dreams, Merman > Mtn Jam > Merman > Mntn Jam, WP encore

I love as many ABB songs recorded after Duane died as ones recorded while he was alive....so I definitely appreciate non-original-lineup ABB music (it wasn't all A+ stuff but there is plenty that was).
I love something about all the eras of the band, though 1980-1982 gets virtually no play from me.
The Trucks/Haynes era has some amazing, amazing live shows recorded and one very good studio album (wish there had been one more!).
For live, I always think:
Fox Box (particularly 3/24/04 and 3/25/04)
The Final Show 10/28/14
Clapton shows (3/19 and 3/20/09)
Anything you can track down with Chuck Leavell including 3/21/05....an extended show (not released commercially but there are great recordings...it includes Chuck on Blue Sky, Jessica, Desdemona, Layla and more). 3/25/01 has an extended Chuck sit in. 8/5/01 does as well. Neither commercially released.

just fyi, the first layla was 3/14/03 & there is a good write up of it on the live show database. another possibility might be to check the "vines" section for various abb shows, I'm sure a lot of them are no longer active but you can always find something interesting there, at least I can. patrick

Has anyone else had any customer service issues with MunckMusic? I have some issues (or at least some questions about what seem to be issues) with the MP3 that I purchased from them. At the time of the purchase, their service was fantastic...I received the email containing the download link within 5-10 minutes of placing my order. So far so good. But their post-sale customer service has been the exact opposite. I sent them an email with some questions about what seem to be some "glitches" (for lack of a better way to describe them) with the MP3. It took them 2 days to even acknowledge/respond to my email, and even then all I got was a brief note saying that the audio department would look into it. That was 10 days ago and I still have not heard back from them with any answers from their "audio department". Over this 10 day span I have sent three additional emails trying to get an update on my request. All three of these emails have been totally ignored. Disappointing...because I was planning to purchase some additional shows, but based on the service I'm not sure that I will.
