Wow, that was a train wreck guitar-wise. I will check out the other videos, though, for some redemption. I'm sure Kimock and Bobby Vega will have something to offer. Thanks for posting.

Wow, that was a train wreck guitar-wise, and I am a fan of both players.

I think this goes to show that although a lot of players and musicians claim to bluesmen, it is a medium that very few actually understand....

the guitar was almost unlistenable (if that's a word). almost bordering on comical.

Great quote on how few can really play the blues. This kind of backs up the argument in regards to not continuing the ABB. You could throw the likes of Bonnomassa and Vai into Derek and Warren's spots and it would not come close to the emotional feel or weight they have no matter how well the notes are played.
The current line up was lightening in bottle. I don't think it would have lasted this long with anyone other people in the mix.

Cool I can't wait to check out all of the videos. Thanks for posting. I got one of these old shows off of the archive a couple years ago and when I really want to listen to some crazy $hit, I play it.

Of course it's not going to be blues, it's a Psychedelic Guitar Circus!

The guitar(s) were just too over-driven and heavy on effects for a blues purist to accept as blues. Not what I personally want to hear on "Stormy Monday". Some great playing, but all that electronic ... noise - just not what you'd hear from Duane, Stevie Ray or anybody with the last name of King. Intergalactic blues? Perhaps.

Ugh.

Mandel is a good player, but he's awful here.

Interesting that it's Boom Carter on drums... he played on on etrack for Springsteen - Born to Run.

Then why not attempt "One Way Out"?

Agreed; I love him on the old Canned Heat albums like Future Blues, but his playing on this is what I would term "unshackled by taste"
