Prospect Park Bandshell Addy In Brooklyn?

I'm seeing Willie Nelson there tonight, Anyone ever go and have good info on parking and route, I'm coming from North Jersey and it looks like my best bet is The George to the East Side Hghwy and to wiggle in from there. I'm searching for a good Tom Tom addy. Thanx
Disregard, I got them.
Any tips, bring chairs? It's general admission, so I'm thinking about. Maybe a metal one for the tripod. How far from parking lot would I be lugging supplies? New venue to me. Much appreciated if you know.

I've seen a few shows there over the years, the last one was Lucinda Williams in June. Willie is a for pay benefit show I believe, I've always went to free ones so it may be different. There is a section upfront that has premium donor seats, then behind that are chairs for the hoi polloi (again y'all paid for this so it may be different). I would get there early and get one of the chairs. There are a decent amount. Behind that is a grassy section where you can stand or maybe bring chairs or sit on the ground.
There is halfway decent food and halfay decent beers for sale. Enjoy, can't believe summer is going so fast.

There is no parking lot, Prospect park is a lot like Central Park, real beautiful urban oasis. You will have to park on the street or in a private garage. If you are taping I would get there early and try and get a seat dfc. I taped Lucinda from first row all the way on left and it came out good if a little mono. You are not supposed to tape, I was right in front of a security guard but he didn't hassle me, I tried not to be too blatant. he did hassle a guy taking pics with a fancy camera.

Get there early (the line is typically long but it moves fast once the gates open). There is usually a line along Prospect Park West and another at a gate slightly inside the park. The band shell is near 10th st at Prospect Park West. Parking might be a little tough in Park Slope, but you'll most likely have to find a spot on the street somewhere. You'll probably only have to park a few blocks away - I'd recommend looking south of the park in Windsor Terrace.
There are permanent chairs in the venue that you can snag if you get there early, but you can bring a chair into the venue and take it to the lawn towards the back (still a solid view, the space isn't that big and it doesn't get as crowded as Central Park Summer Stage can get). However, most people on the lawn start off the concert sitting on the lawn with friends, and then get on their feet once the show starts, so you'd likely go from in the way pre-show, to an obstructed view when Willie hits the stage.
It's a really nice space, the park is beautiful - same designers as Central Park - I run through there all of the time. Enjoy!

Thanx for the info.
I was looking to video tape. I am a big Willie fan and would love to capture him live. I've seen him a few times and with it being outdoors I was hoping it'd be allowed.
I paid like $65 a ticket. I don't care about being close as I would zoom in and be back far enough where I can zoom out for a different feel and get the whole scene. You actually partially forfeit the enjoyment staring at the 1" video screen and trying to have a smooth zoom in and out, but taping my kids sports (especially wrestling) I became semi decent at it as long as I don't get too much of a head on?
I only do it for fun and to document the show. I love the solo guitar attack of Willie and would love to get a quality grab of him strutting his skills.
Do you think I would get grief for trying. If I have to walk the stuff back to the car then that would be a bummer especially if it's a distance away?

They are pretty picky about what gets in. I'm not sure how big your equipment is, but if you have a bag they will quickly search it. If your stuff folds up, then you might be able to stow it at the bottom of your bag. If you get it in and can tape the show, just go to the back of the crowd because you are more likely to get grief from people behind you trying to see around your camera setup.

Thanx, I appreciate the info, I'm going to give it a go. We'll see.

People are always surprised when I cite Willie as one of my favorite guitarists. He knows how to craft a melody, he is a country picker with a jazz sensibility.

I have to play with a thread and upload a pic or two, but am heading out to see Shawn Holt & The Teardrops in the Village, So here's one from last night.
