Prayers for family of Greenwood SC missing musician

One of my lifelong friends Hack Bartley, who is a well known & liked musician from my hometown is missing. He went fishing in a large private pond Tuesday evening and has not been seen or heard from since. His truck (on site)and boat ( in the pond)were found at the pond site. Just spent two nights of music with him weekend before last at MY grand nephew's wedding rehearsal & reception, as groups he is a member of played for them. Please keep Hack & his family in your prayers as these are some of the finest people walking on this earth, Music people who get it and are considered famABBly by all who know them. thanks! WillieB.

Sadly, the search for Hack ended around noon today as divers recovered his body from the pond. The house band in Heaven got a great front man this week. great sax & harp player who could keep a crowd with his singing and showmanship! Here's a link to his beach music parody song on youtube. you'll get a kick out of his humor. It's called "Don't Wait up on the shrimpboat, Bab,; 'cause I'm coming home with the crabs!" by Hack Bartley & shuffle.

sorry to hear this, hopefully he was at peace doing what he loved when he died.

So sorry to hear this Bill.... 🙁

Another link to show a little Hack & GWd friends on stage! Enjoy!
Thanks for your sentiments guys! Bluedad, was playing the Gregg Back to Macon DVd in the computer yesterday afternoon, as background, while I worked. It got close to the end and I looked up there's Chank in the first few rows rockin that mushroom shirt, no wait! That ain't Chank, that's the infamous John Howard from Aiken South Cackalacky! Made me smile on a day when I had very few of those! by the way, Hack was the MC and talent booker for the Live After Five series for a good ling run, and had a hand in bringing Devon & RSB to Greenwood a couple years back for the show you and your lovely daughter, along with BDOB attended!

In my brief time in Greenwood, Hack was the consummate entertainer. Singing, shagging, and blowing that horn. Kept up with him from time to time as the in-laws are there. A big loss for music and the community.
