Please Say, "It Ain't Me, Babe"!

... No, no, no! Please say it ain't so, Bob!

I realize that these days any and all accusations of this sort are to be taken very seriously. Dylan's camp denies the accusations. I admit that my allegiance, loyalty and undying fan-ship play into my defense of my hero. 55 years have gone by - including the period of Bob's greatest popularity. I honestly do not intend to sound like an insensitive, sexist @$$hole - but I have to wonder why this person would decide to bring this complaint now.
At the same time, it has occurred to me over the past few years why/how "rock stars" from the 1960's-70's have somehow managed to escape what has become known as "cancel culture". Politicians, movie stars and athletes get rung up weekly on 10 - 20 year-old charges of misbehavior. "Rock stars" - whose public images and behaviors were centered on sex, drugs and rock-n-roll debauchery seem to go unscathed. I've told stories before of a couple of girls I knew back in the day who were essentially groupies. They told me many crazy stories involving some of musics biggest names.
Bob Dylan is possibly my single biggest musical idol. This accusation crushes a part of my soul. This accusation puts Bob in the Joe Paterno school of, "50 + years of a solid career only to suddenly be buried in a mire of scandal".
Bob (through his camp) says that this accusation will be fought and defended vigorously. I hope that he is vindicated in the end.
