Big Brother and The Holding Company (left) w/ The Grateful Dead. Such a classic shot, just had to share. Janis and Pigpen (center) carried on a raging affair for awhile as told by Pigpen's roommate, Bob Weir.

great photo Rob! Curious, since I don't know personnel in BB & HC as well, are both bands posed in same positions as to rolls they played in the band?

Thank you, Sir! I could have named most of them from memory but needed some help with Getz and Albin.
I'm guessing this picture was taken in 1965, not long after either band formed.

Based on Jerry's guitar I would estimate the pic was 67-68

The guitar he's holding as well as the one Sam Andrews is holding kinda give me that time period. Jerry played a Guild Starfire the first year or so then went to a Gibson Les Paul Custom ...the one in the picture around 67/68

Here's a site with the info

Great pic. Obviously I'm familiar with everyone featured here except the Charlatans. I believe someone mentioned they were a faux Brit band.

Man, with the sheer amount of stone in that photo, it looks like Mount Rush-more.
