Nugs tv is steaming the show.

A fine band tonight although I'm wondering how Robert Randolph will do playing Dead music...in general I'm no fan of his and I couldn't understand how Phil might insert him into the music...he tends to overplay stuff...he's kinda like the Popper harmonica of pedal steel.

Jackie Green is in the band tonight as well.

Well,I'm still looking forward to the show. The last stream Phil did featured John Kadelick and Stanley Jordan-they were awesome particularly the 3/17 show which was excellent.(can be found on YouTube).

Ahh...the good ole days when people would gather around the thread's fireplace to watch/listen to the show together.

I take it I'm the only one excited as the band will son take the stage.

Are the other fans napping on Facebook? 😉

I hit part of a free stream where they were doing the Viola Cumberland. That's what The Grateful Dead was about. Live and in the moment. Sounded great.

Was the older sax player part of Preservation?
He did a lot of jaming, always up front while the other sax player stayed back with the rest of the Preservative horns.
I think he was introduced as...Gabriel. If you know please share, thanks! ( of course I am not referring to Karl)

Correct ......

Charlie Gabriel
Saxophone, Clarinet

Charlie Gabriel/Clarinet and Vocals: The musical heritage of Charlie Gabriel can be traced back as far back as the 1850s. Great-grandson of New Orleans bass player Narcesse Gabriel, grandson of New Orleans cornet player Martin Joseph, and son of New Orleans drummer and clarinetist Martin Manuel Gabriel, Charlie is truly a living legend. At eighty-one years old, the extensive list of musicians with whom he’s played includes well-known PHJB alumni Kid Howard, Kid Sheik, Jim Robinson, and George Lewis.

Phil and Friends second night live webcast just starting now on Nugs. He just dedicated tonight's show to Gregg, saying we needed to generate as much love as possible. <3
