“I want to go out screaming”

Wow, this is terrible. When I was a little kid and "Frampton Comes Alive" was so big I liked it but didn't think it was that great.
Saw him for the for the first time on Gregg's last tour and he was awesome. He toured with Steve Miller last summer and they played a few songs together (Steve's songs).
The two of them playing guitar together was amazing. He didn't do that with Gregg.
I hope he runs through Chicago this summer. Would love to see him again.

Sad news. I know that Bob Dylan can't play guitar anymore mainly due to arthritis. Kick some ass this tour Peter!

This is one "Farewell Tour" that, unfortunately, looks like the real deal.
Other than Humble Pie, I never got into Frampton's music much back in his 70's heyday but I heard some of his more recent stuff a few years ago and liked it enough to go and see him on his 2013 tour.
He came on stage wearing a Humble Pie t-shirt and proceeded to rock the roof off the place. Great song selection, great band, great show! Even the overplayed (on radio, anyway) songs from "Frampton Comes Alive!" sounded good to me.
I'll definitely be getting a ticket for at least one show on this upcoming tour.

He was great at Dear Jerry at Merriweather 3 years ago doing I'm A Roadrunner

Saw this morning that he is coming to Chicago in late July with Jason Bonham’s Zeppelin band. It will be a rocking night on Lake Michigan at Northerly Island - a great venue. Knowing now why Peter is calling it quits on touring, I’m going to make it a point to hit this show.

That's cool. Should be an awesome show. Northerly is where I saw him the two times I did. Great venue. It just sucks getting out of there. You can get in but getting out is a different story.

This was one of the songs in his setlist when I saw him in 2013.

Cool cover and sounded great live!

I had a similar reaction to Comes Alive, and also got a new take when he guested with the ABB at the Beacon. I saw him a couple of times since, and he really rocked both shows.

Prayers for Peter. I always loved that sweetness in his guitar playing. Nassua/Baby I Love Your Way was my wedding song 30 years ago. My wife and I used to dance to it in our studio apt living room/bedroom/kitchen floor 35 years ago. Back in my at home dee jay days Frampton self titled made a few spins. I'm having a flashback to that ugly sound VVVZZZZPP when you didn't take that needle off clean. My favorite Humble Pie was the Frampton era. Sadly he hardly played Pie when he played live, normally doing only I Don't Need No Doctor. Would love to hear deeper tunes, a tribute to Steve kinda thing? I last saw him in Long Island over a decade ago at the Tree Arboretum. What a sweet venue. Historic riches transferred over like the Breakers up in Rhode Island. I remember seeing Audley Freed popping up again, Great picker that is almost like Kevin Bacon? & degrees of Audley? He's everywhere, Talent can do that. I just watched parts of the Elvis All Star Tribute and they had Dierks Bentley doing the "leather" '68 comeback portion and there he was yet again.

He got huge respect from me when I saw him April 6, 2007 at The Beacon sitting in with the ABB. He fit right in which many other great guitarists didn’t and he added to the mix in a great way. Never looked at him the same after that. I remember saying to myself, hmmm, Peter Frampton sitting in, let’s see what he’s got. Blew me away almost as much as Scofield did. I will try and see the MSG show.

Just grabbed tix for 9/13 at MSG. If this truly is a farewell for health reasons, a big show at MSG should be special.
