Panic suggestions?

Looking for suggestions for WSP tunes for someone not at all familiar with the band.
Favorite tunes? The stuff that grabs you? Post it here!

I think some of their best & most accessible stuff is on Ain't Life Grand (1994). Some of those songs I would start with plus some others:
Ain't Life Grand
Airplane
Can't Get High
Black Out Blues
+
Wonderin
Walkin' For Your Love
Space Wrangler
Travelin Light (JJ Cale Song)
Hope In a Hopeless World
One Arm Steve
Climb To Safety
Dirty Side Down

Thanks for posting this list..I tried listening to them several times and I just don't see it..despite Jimmy Herring!..Perhaps the shows that someone gave me were off nights..Going to give it another shot

They are good when they add horns too. Here's one from Bonarroo a few years back:
Up All Night

Protein Drink>Sewing Machine
Widespread Panic - "Protein Drink" & "Sewing Machine" - Bonnaroo 2011 (O...:

Light Fuse Get Away - fantastic live representation of WSP
DINER > Wondering will put the WSP Gallop in yer git up!!
as does disk II's Rebirtha > ROCK (dig the way the opening drum beats of Rock bubbles up for about a minute as Rebirtha winds down)
ps- Protein Drink > Sewing Machine - def one of the .brute classics
Long Live the Lingering Lead & the Big Man in the little chair!!! We miss ya Mikey & Vic!

OK....I've listened to that Bonnaroo version of "Up All Night" multiple times while working this morning. The fact that it wasn't a radio hit just proves rock radio just doesn't care. What a great melody and tasteful straight ahead rock tune.
Even though these guys do plenty of extended jams and not everything they release pushes my "melodic" button, they have written or performed some great tunes over their career, despite being mostly ignored on mainstream radio. 1994-1996 time frame was the last time I recall hearing them on the radio in Atlanta.
Kudos to them for building such a big career without the typical exposure.

Light Fuse Get Away - fantastic live representation of WSP
+1
A must have.

Try Live in the Classic City for a good mix of much of their great songs from the Michael Houser era.

my favorite tunes:
Pilgrims
Chilly Water
Surprise Valley
Hatfield
Vacation
Stop Go
Pigeons
For live shows, there's no argument with Live in the Classic City and Light Fuse Get Away for the Houser era stuff.
For Jimmy Herring era - the tour with the ABB in 2009 is top notch
10/10/09 from Birmingham is a great one

I'm also a big fan of this 2011 show from Asheville, both because I attended and also because it's one of the very few herring-era shows that have been re-mastered and released by the band, not just the sbd feed.

A few thoughts/suggestions:
Live in the Classic City is awesome.
Check out the guest list:

You can buy CDs or downloads from their website and I offer up a few I attended:
07/13/07 Chicago Theatre: They cover Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", which is worth the cost alone.
09/01/09 & 09/02/09 Northerly Island, Chicago. Them with the ABB. At times, you couldn't tell which band was on stage since there were so many sit ins. Their version of "Turn on Your Lovelight" on 09/01 with Gregg and Warren is amazing.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I thought this was a thread for Seahawks fans.
sorry, my bad.

WSP and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band = Night Of Joy.

There are 120 complete Panic concert videos @ http://musicphotographics.com/VIDEOS/complete_concert_videos_streams_wsp.htm. Knock yourself out! I was at Bonnaroo 2003, w/ Warren, Robert Randolph & Stanton Moore sitting in. Even though it was the much disliked George McConnell era, I thought it was fabulous. The last time I did acid, which kicked in the second it started, probably helped. Was also at the Grand Sierra show in Oakland in 2014. Those videos are superb!
My favorite Panic tunes:
Ain't Life Grand
Tallboy
Pigeons
Imitation Leather Shoes
Coconut
Papa Johnny Road
Holden Oversoul
Little Lily
Porch Song
Henry Parsons Died
Bust It Big
Chilly Water
Makes Sense to Me
Rebirtha
Send Your Mind
Dyin' Man
Thin Air
Travelin' Light
Among many awesome covers:
Climb to Safety
Ride Me High
Red Hot Mama
Walk on Guilded Splinters
Ain't No Use
Slippin' Into Darkness
Time Is Free

Really appreciate the suggestions - many thanks for all the links! My brother and I have been spinning some Panic.
They have grown on me by a lot. I like the band fine, they rock out. Love the jams, love the influences, love the musicianship.
The singing, not so much.
But then again, I can't sing a note even in the shower. Or so my wife tells me.

Barstools and Dreamers!!! WSP + pinball + drankin' 😉
snip~
...This time I can't hear the pinball machine
Well there's a birdman playing tiny little sideways bongos
Pulling all those words down, down, down
Look at how the numbers glow
In the glass there rolls the iron ball
And a quarter stays the toll that's all (that's all)
You take another look, take another pull
Take another pour, take another pull
Before you take a chance
Look at your hands, they're just right for a new kinda dance
Just forget what your bodies just done
And ride on the waves that the drums rest on

Music only knows what the people feeeeeeeelllll
