Oteil new cd and solo tour

The touring band is quality and should be some fun stuff and one can preorder the cd now as well.

I'm looking forward to the show at the Fillmore in Silver Springs.
I'm looking forward to some great music in early November. Del McCoury, Elephant Revival, Jimmy Herring and John McLaughlin with the Invisible Whip, John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett at the Birchmere as well as Stanley Clarke at the Birchmere... I think King Crimson is happening in November as well.
The Mid Atlantic Music scene is vibrant!

11 shows in 11 nights for Oteil. Quite ambitious. Should be fun.

Nice line up!! Kadelcisck and Krasno? Jay Lane on drums plus a percussionist?
Looking forward to this!

I wonder if any ABB material will sneak into the setlist?
I guess some Dead would be more likely.

Glad we get him + Jaimoe's Jassz Band in Athens. Oteil continues to embrace his Allman Brothers past by hooking up with fellow alumni. Was kind of hoping Marc might be in his band.
I would think an Allman Brothers song or two will make it into the setlist. I'm thinking something like Instrumental Illness or one of the two new ones they did but never recorded.

In interviews he's mentioned It's Not My Cross to Bear and Please Call Home as two of his ABB favorites. And also Dreams and Blue Sky. Maybe he'll try one of those.

Just bought and listened to the album Water in the Desert from start to finish. Went on a long hike so wasn't really looking at the song list.
Very well done. Didn't recognize a single tune so I assume they are all new and/or maybe an obscure cover or two but some fresh sounding arrangements for sure.
It's got a lot of R&B / soul / funk that we know Oteil loves --- maybe a tad too much for my taste.
Let Somebody Love You in particular really grabbed me as unique, alive and vibrant yet oddly familiar. As if Gregg was helping him arrange it.
There are a couple moments like this thought but make no mistake this is about as Oteil as I think it gets.
Definitely recommended
