I believe he is referring to the pre-order thing for the CD, which ships on or around Jan. 23

I had to pass on the pre-order with the bonus disc. Probably gonna regret it because i would like to have that bonus disc in my collection but the S&H costs from websites like musictoday have gone through the roof especially for international orders. I have to draw the line somewhere. Also the fact that with recent bonus discs they didn't even bother to put them in a proper cardboard sleeve with some artwork and recording details was a major bummer too. Now they put them in a plain paper sleeve (for storing CDRs etc.). From the money i save from not ordering overseas from musictoday i can pick up the vinyl release from some (online) store over here in Europe ans save the shipping charges and spend the money which i don't want to spend on those S&H costs on buying Sco-mule on CD as well.

Wow! What a great review!

I just checked on my order it says, "In Status".

I'm wishing I had ordered from Amazon in that the Mule store says shipping will be 7 - 10 days.

I've been waiting years for this.

I was at the Roxy show. Me and maybe 400 other folks. The small theater was nearly empty.

I saw a friend of mine, Kyler, when I walked in. I walked over, "Hey Kyler - Is this Jon Scofield playing with the Mule?"

He said, "Yeah".

I said, "The Jon Scofield?"

He said, "Yeah."

I said, "Jon Scofield Jon Scofield?!?"

He started giggling and said, "Yeah."

I said, "Wow."

Postage from the US especially with music today is just ridiculous.

Music today especially are using it as supplement to earnings rip off

Amazon email confirming shipping, nice that they get it to you ON the release date.

Overseas folks, why not get someone to get it for you, then send it privately as a gift?

Rob - yes, I was referring to the album and bonus disc but I am hoping to catch them in Nashville. Love to hear about Oakland.

I have had the Pass the Peas and Devil Like's it Slow from these shows for a few years now and they have been since the day I got them, two of my favorite tracks. They sound even better professionally recorded (since I am an nit pick freak, I have to say I wish Woody's bass was a little more evident in the mix on Devil Likes It Slow as it is on my bootleg recording. Super nit pick)

It is too bad this album will not get the sort of radio and mainstream exposure pop acts do. I know, I KNOW, this isn't the type of album that would climb the pop charts but I do wish a lot more people could hear it (these 3 tracks so far anyway). I feel like a lot of people I know don't give Warren or Mule a fair listen because either Warren sits in with so many people or they have only heard Warren with some other projects (a lot of Dead fans I know dislike Warren because they have only really heard him on that GD tour or with Phil.)

Anyway, very psyched for this.

Listening to it this morning, got my copy Friday, good stuff! Both versions of Kind Of Bird smoke! 22 minute Afro Blue, really good. but I think may favorite track on here right now is Sco-Mule, just a great tune, played beautifully. And it is cool to hear Woody playing acoustic on here too on the 2 versions of Hottentot. As good as Warren, John and Dr. Dan sound on here, Woody and Matt are the real stars here,

Thanks for the review. Can't wait to see them! We'll be going to see Sco-Mule next month in Eugene, so hopefully I can buy the CD directly from them and get them to sign it! Anyone else going to this show? I've recently read that the Mule has a new taping policy which reserves an entire area for tapers near the soundboard. Anyone taping these new Sco-Mule shows? There should be some great jams!

Left work early today and the Sco Mule CD was waiting for me when I got home. I have never heard this before and I really like what I have heard so far. Really looking forward to the show here in a few weeks!

I've been listening to this since I got it yesterday. This might actually be the best album Gov't Mule has ever released. I can't remember the last time I bought new music with high expectations only to have those expectations exceeded.

Would have had my copy today if Mass did not get hit with a blizzard and the Gov shut the state down. Hope to have it tomorrow and really looking forward to it.

Will be a nice warmup for the ScoMule Boston Orpheum show

Mind blown by this record. How does this music sit in the can for 15 years ?

It really hammers home again the " What if" on Allen Woody.

I've enjoyed the post woody Mule but between hearing this release and the jump in writing and recordings from the first record to Life Before Insanity, the sky was the limit for the original Mule....

I really like the ScoMule on disc 1. Listening to Freeway Jam now.

I'd appreciate any discussion on who is playing what solo. Sometimes I have no problem identifying a Scofield riff or picking out Warren. But on some of the tunes Warren seems to be playing different, more jazzy styles of picking and I get a little confused.

eluding to what tommars was saying, boy do I miss Woody. So nice to hear him again- we tend to forget just how powerful he was. I forgot how much I loved the song "Birth of the Mule"- easily my favorite track on the release- it has it all...great jazzy sound, Woody's thumping walking bass lines, gritty Mule power and nice call & return between Warren & Sco. I'm so glad they released this!!!!!

What a great album. So glad to have this. All tracks are top notch.

There are Many highlights for me but the one that I really like at the moment is Woody's bass line during the keyboard solo on Kind Of Bird (the second solo where Dickey would take his solo). It is the same chugging-funk bass line that he does all to briefly at the end of his bass solo on the Second Set Liz Reed right at the end. Here it lasts for what seems like five minutes and the key solo over it is fantastic. Just great.
