Just finished listening to Live On and Trouble Is, for the first time in certainly over a decade.

They are very good albums, and what surprised me most upon these long time re-listens is how strong the songs are. They're not merely a vehicle for showcasing a young guitar-slinger. Especially on Live On, there are great tunes.

I stopped buying after Trouble Is. I think I'm going to get caught up on his discography.

I own every piece of music that KWS has recorded. He is an amazing talent & I have trouble understanding why he is not more popular. I highly recommend "How I Go" by The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. Also check out his work with The Rides (KWS, Stephen Stills & Barry Goldberg) "Can't Get Enough". Goooooooooood stuff!

He had a good run with those first 3 albums.
His solo 4th one (The Place You're In) with a change in style & direction is what derailed him, avoid that one.
How I Go was a nice return to form 12 years later.
Warren sings & plays a tune on his most recent one - Goin' Home.

I saw KWSB & Gov't Mule in Auburn AL in 2001.
The Mule were the openers & this lineup featured Chuck Leavell & Dave Schools.
Half the crowd left after Gov't Mule which I didn't understand but all well, I got closer to the stage & got to hear more good music.

The event was BYOB & oh yeah - free.
They don't get no better than that!
