Real big in Quebec in the 70s and 80s - Legendary status in the Province.

Musically some real great blues and rock and the lyrics are great for those that speak French. 😉

Singer Gerry Boulet died of cancer in 1990. He was like the French Joe Cocker. Great live and played a mean organ too.

Thought maybe some here might enjoy.

Lots in common with the ABB musically on lots of their material. Covered a lot of ground. The language aspect cost them bigger success outside of Quebec obviously. Sell out the Forum one night and a theater or club the next. Unheard of really.

So sad I didn't appreciate them at the time. Johnny Gravel is such a soulful guitarist.

A blast form the past.
I saw once or twice, being a unilingual Anglophone never really understood the songs, but they were top notch musicians without a doubt. Was tuned on to them by a couple of school friends who moved up here from Quebec City. They would go on and on about them like they were Zeppelin or something and in QC they were up there as far as record and ticket sales and overall support. Shame really they didn’t really breakout of QC. I often wondered about Europe as to their success

They did do some English songs over the years. They started in the late 60s so they were around for a long time.

They spent a few months in France in 1974, a live record and a movie came out of that trip... but they weren't big there. They were mainly a Québec thing and they also played in Ontario.
