GREAT questions asked by this interviewer. Went straight to the important stuff, imo.

Derek is always a great interview. Great questions despite the lack of 30 second research to get the correct spelling on Gregg and Duane.

Glad to hear his story about Tom Petty.

I noticed that too, but it might have been digitally transpcribed (though they still could have proofed/fact checked)

He's quiet, soft spoken, but very cerebral. He has his head on straight, and he is a consummate musician. He gives, he drives others higher, he steps back and doesn't hog the space or seek to be a rock star. He just wants to share his energy with everyone. A consummate world class musician.

I love these people and this band. As we get older, it becomes more important to carry on the musical traditions of the past while inventing music for the present.

The jamband scene is so vibrant today thanks to bands like the Allmans
