Joshua Michael "Josh" Homme (/?h?m.i/ hom-ee;[note 1] born May 17, 1973)[6] is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is the founder and only continuous member of the rock band Queens of the Stone Age, in which he sings and plays guitar, as well as occasionally playing piano, drums, and bass. He also serves as the band's primary songwriter.
Homme was formerly a guitarist and founder of the influential stoner rock band Kyuss. He co-founded and occasionally performs with Eagles of Death Metal, playing drums for their studio recordings, and produces a musical improv series with other musicians, mostly from the Palm Desert Scene, known as The Desert Sessions. In 2009, he formed a new project called Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, who released their debut album that same year.

???

"Josh Homme, one of the founders of the band and the leader of another popular group, Queens of the Stone Age, was not performing in Paris with Eagles of Death Metal, according to a publicist for the Eagles' record label."

that is good news....in some horrible news

The Atlanta Journal Constitution ( http://on-ajc.com/1Qn8Y60 ), quoting the brother of the band's drummer, reported Friday night that all band members escaped the concert hall unharmed. The paper identified the drummer as Atlanta native Julian Dorio.

"They saw a man with a machine gun just opening fire," Dorio's brother Michael Dorio told the newspaper. Michael Dorio said his brother told him band members hit the floor when they spotted the gunmen, then ran out a backstage door.

This very tragic turn of events should scare all of us because everyone here that I can think of goes to shows.

This world is getting SO goddamn crazy that really you are going to have to walk through a security scanner when entering ANY concert venue. I personally would welcome it. If it adds a few bucks to my ticket price, I don't care. I want to go home alive after the show.

I agree with you that this world is getting SO crazy and that aweful and tragic events like this will probably result in upgrades in security measures like scanners and even more cameras but i doubt it will stop pigs like this in planning and executing such cowardly attacks. You can place security scanners at the front entrance
along with extra security guards as many as you want but when terrorists want to storm such a venue they only have to stab / shoot themselves a way in in order to carry out their (suicide) attack. Fortunally plenty attacks have failed in the past and terrorist cells have been arrested before carrying out their evil plans but we have to painfully conclude that (espescially in large metropolitan areas) we will never be 100% save and tragedies like this can happen anywhere.

Metal detectors are not much use when you shoot the security checking people.

Sad world.

Eagles of Death Metal Merch Manager Nick Alexander Killed in Paris Attack

"Nick was a great guy and a true professional. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with him," Alice in Chains said in Facebook post

By Daniel Kreps November 14, 2015

Nick Alexander, who worked Eagles of Death Metal's merchandise table during the group's European tour, was among the 118 people killed in the terror attack at Paris' Bataclan, Alexander's family confirmed in a statement. He was 36.

"It is with huge sorrow that we can confirm that our beloved Nick lost his life at the Bataclan last night. Nick was not just our brother, son and uncle; he was everyone's best friend – generous, funny and fiercely loyal," Alexander's family said. "Nick died doing the job he loved and we take great comfort in knowing how much he was cherished by his friends around the world. Thank you for your thoughts and respect for our family at this difficult time. Peace and light."
