Hi people, kevin here. I've been reading for some time now and i'm ready to share my thoughts with the good people of the allmanbrothers family.
I would love to see Dickey one more time live
My first allmanbrothers concert was at the boston garden with the eagles opening. Probably in 1974.
Didn't get to see Duane
My favorite line-up that I saw was Dickey and Warren Powerful
Didn't see a lineup that I didn't like though
Big Gov't Mule fan
I met warren and woody after a show at Mama Kins in Boston when the mule was starting out. Warren signed my cassette. Nope I don't have it anymore.
Also like WSP
I hope Greggs health gets better.
Bare with me, I've never posted anything anywhere ever.
I am a Patriots and Celtics fan
That's all for now. I'll be back hopefully

Welcome kevdab! I liked your post. My first ABB show wasn't until 2005. As usual, I was a little late to the party 😛

Susan is ok. Never liked when she sat in with the brothers. I thought she disrupted the flow of the show. I love derek's playing though. Just can't wrap my head around the Tedeschi Trucks band.
Thanks for the welcome.

I'm the opposite - can't get enough TTB, but never a big Mule fan. Different strokes.

Welcome, kevdab.

This site pretty much taught me how to interact with others in a civil, spirited and virtual way, so I hope you experience the same if you ever decide to engage in other social media.

Hey kevdab, if you like the idea of receiving free, live music in the mail, check out the vine section, although it has been very quiet as of late, there is a vast amount of options to receive good music !

Most threads here have been pretty civil with the exception of Dickey and Clapton ones. The Gregg auto-pen was classic also.

welcome from a fellow resident of the Beantown area.
74 was a great year to see your 1st ABB show - mine was 74 at Nassau Coliseum

I won't hold it against you that you don't like TTB (and you do like WSP) j/k

Welcome aboard Kevin.

My 1st ABB show was in '79. My favorite one so far was seeing them open for The Dead at the Gorge. Great venue for a show. Was on my bucket list of venues along with Red Rocks.

Mule is one of my favorite bands. Got to do 5 MYE so far. Probably go again in '17. Saw them at Mama Kin's once too. Checked off my Red Rocks bucket list venue with the Mule and SCI.

Saw Gregg Allman Band for the first time many years ago on NYE in Ventura, CA. He brought out a very young Derek Trucks for a few songs. I was looking forward to seeing him on the Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea in Feb but he had to cancel that appearance too. Got my fingers crossed to see him somewhere this summer.

I'm a Pats, Red Sox, and Celtics fan. Not into hockey so I don't follow the Bruins. Born and grew up in the tropical paradise also know as Pawtucket.

Paul

Yo, Kevin,

Here's a bit of what you missed, from the Duane Era:

As good as other incarnations have been, these are from their peak, as far as I'm concerned.

Have fun, and play these loud!

Hi people,
Thanks for the welcome. I hear that the TTB put on great shows last week in Boston. My son went, and told me that I missed a great show on Saturday. Next time they are around I'll have to make sure I see them.
I'm slow at responding to the messages, but I'm easing my way into this internet thing.
More about me. I'm getting married on Jan. 7. I'm very happy.
Going to Jamaica to see the mule for my honeymoon. I'm a lucky guy.

Hello Kev, Ron here, Welcome, welcome. It's a great site, Loaded with knowledge and opinions, like anywhere else, It takes all kinds to make a world and we certainly have a good portion represented here. Heh heh, I'm one. There is a lot of passion on display as folks discuss their musical preferences. There is also loads of history of shared rooms and parallel lives that have intersected on stages at venues across the globe.

I appreciate quality music. I find the best in what bands have to offer. I love the TTB, great unique fusion a little soft at times. I can also get into some of what the Mule does, they also are a rougher fusion of their own, slightly mechanical at times?

I caught my 1st ABB show @The Round Up in 1981, I've been "Bro"-ficated ever since. I've seen every line-up since. I also favor the Dickey/Warren era as my personally viewed favorite. They were the closet to "That" original sound. The acoustic sit down's were special.

I'm not sure we'll be seeing much of Gregg or Dickey in the future, Sadly.

So your 1st ABB show was in 1974 and you're getting married in January? God Bless You. I just hit my 27th Anniversary. "Good Times, Bad Times, You know I've had my share", Best Of Luck and Congrats", Enjoy some Jamaican Mule!
