New Gregg interview

Typical stuff... End of Allman Brothers... new solo band... All compositions by... peach fest...burning the rebel flag.. just your normal Gregg interview.

"... My new band is the most incredible musical experience I’ve ever had the honor and pleasure to be a part of...."
Uhhh ... okay, Gregg. Whatever.

I don't get why Gregg gets so much grief around here when he makes comments like that. I seriously doubt that was a slight to the ABB and more a nod to what he's focused on. Could it be that he's just in a very happy place in his life and is doing what he wants to be doing?
Really insightful comment about airplane travel, btw. That would never have occurred to me but makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, just good old-fashioned musical puffery; it's to be expected. I actually believe the album talk for once, though he seems to be backing away from the all compositions by Gregg thing.
Here's where he is getting another GA Music HOF award:
Check the comments for the 2006 induction video where he's backed by REM.

Really? Vibration?
There are a number of reasons why air travel may make you feel fatigued - poor cabin air quality, hypoxia from cabin pressurization, "jet lag", dehydration etc - but I've never heard aviation medical experts discussing the risk of vibration.
Most vibration in fixed-wing aircraft is generated by atmospheric turbulence rather than the engines, so flying in calm conditions should not produce any significant vibration.

I fly often for work ( is there really any other efficient way to get around the States save for the northeast, unfortunately? ) and completely agree with your medical causes for the ill effects of that means of travel, and I thought for a moment maybe Gregg just uses this line with his promotors so that they give him a plush bus instead.
And without being an engineer or scientist, my intuition tells me that going 600 mph in a metal can has to have at least SOME vibratory implications that wouldn't otherwise be experienced.
I'd tend to trust Gregg's ear on this issue, but it would be very interesting to hear about this subject from other musicians.

Don't misunderstand, I think he makes a valid point about not performing on the same day as flying, depending on the distance involved.
There are valid reasons - physical and mental - for thinking that it might impair performance.
I just happen to think that vibration isn't one of them, speaking from 27 years experience in the civil aviation sector.
