Hey all,

My name is Zach Lechner. Nearly ten years ago, I posted on this message board, requesting responses to a "southern rock" questionnaire I put together for a Ph.D. dissertation I was writing. That dissertation is now a book called The South of the Mind: American Imaginings of White Southernness, 1960-1980, and the chapter that addresses the Allman Bros. features a number of quotes from this forum's participants. I wanted to thank those of you who helped with this project, and I invite all of you to check out my book, which is coming out on September 15 through the University of Georgia Press:
