NCAA 2017 March Madness Bracket

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Shaping up to be an all ACC Final Four.
I think Notre Dame will do very well in the West bracket.
We'll see if Kansas shows up - I think Miami's D could give them problems, and if they survive that they still have Louisville.
Kentucky or Cincinnati could give UNC problems. Possibly.
Otherwise, I could very well see Notre Dame vs. Duke and Louisville vs. UNC in the Final Four.

And to clarify, I don't mean UNC Wilmington (who will upset Virginia in the opening round before being eliminated themselves).

Notre Dame? Wow, I didn't think you lived in South Bend!
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I went to Florida State - my disdain for Notre Dame goes back 25+ years. Be that as it may, their basketball program is solid. I didn't say I would be rooting for them.

I hate Notre Dame. I Am a Michigan fan and we had some great football games with them in the 90s (as did Florida State).
Just don't think their hoops team is THAT good. Although I do like Mike Brey. Guess we shall see in the next few weeks.

It helps ND that the West is the weakest of the four brackets.

Might be a few teams here in the Midwest and Big East to have something to say about that. 😛
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

i need to do a bracket but does anyone see duke losing before the elite 8? i don't think either team they would play in the round of 32 have enough firepower to take them down. SMU or baylor to me don't have enough on defense to slow duke down enough. if those were the teams you took as the winners of the games leading up until then.

i'd like to add vanderbilt, dayton and michigan seem a bit over seeded and wichita state is terribly under seeded. like so bad its shocking to think this wasn't done on purpose. wichita state is currently ranked 19th in the country but were given an 10 seed. doing the math that means the people in charge of the ncaa tournament feel that the 19th best team in the country who just won their conference tournament is really about the 40th best team in the tournament and should be playing dayton. a team thats unranked, lost the first game of the A10 tournament they played in and yet that somehow makes them about the 28th best team in the tournament.

Who would have picked this final four?!
Some great ball was played.
1 Gonzaga vs. No. 7 South Carolina
1 North Carolina vs. No. 3 Oregon

Umm, not me. Lol. My bracket started falling apart early. ACC crumbled overall. Nothing from Big East or Midwest. SE vs. NW. Should be a fun run to watch.

the only team left i picked for final four was NC

I read something last night that said out of like however many millions of brackets that CBS and ESPN got turned in, that only 678 brackets picked the correct Final Four. That's freaking crazy.

Since Gonzaga and South Carolina have never been in the Final Four before, that doesn't surprise me. And the last time Oregon was in (1939), there were only 8 teams TOTAL in the entire tournament.
Left Coast basketball has made a stronger showing in 2017 than it has in many years. This is a huge breakthrough for Gonzaga (and Oregon as well). Gonzaga has made the tournament every single one of the 18 seasons that Mark Few has been their coach but this is their first Final Four. And that adds up to a LOT of disappointment because a LOT of people, including myself, have picked them to get there multiple times in the past. They seem to finally be competing with the power conferences as far as their recruiting but it's taken 18 years for that to happen.

I was not giving Gonzaga and Oregon much of a chance in my bracket. The West always seemed kinda week in tourney play, guess I was wrong , huh?! 😛 Almost made a pretty significant wager that the Zags would not win the whole thing. Glad I did not, they might. I thought they were kinda overrated to a degree. Not denying they are a very good basketball team but I felt they played in weak conference with not much competition. I know they're defense is good, NW dropped 53 points in 20 mins on them and had them on the ropes. Should be some good games this weekend.
