NBA Starts Tonight!

My very brief summary of this NBA season:
1)Cleveland trades one of its super-stars but is never is able to replace him
2)Houston adds a supreme talent but loses him when they need him most
3)The fully-loaded Warriors live up to expectations and take advantage of situations 1 & 2.Amen.
I would definitely add
4) Boston nearly gets there without its' two best players. Next year.
Congrats to the GSW. I don't think there was ever doubt since the first game of the season but they did it.
The Cavs never stood a chance with or without broken hands. Truth be told - Lebron should never pass on that team. He scores or gets fouled when he drives. Almost everytime. Incredible.
As I said last season, I would have preferred to see if the GSW would have done it without KD - both seasons. But being what it is - see you next season. LOL

Great news for us Warriors fans...........horrible for the rest of you.........

Great news indeed Rob, & 4-straight this time -- real impressive, nice going GSW --
am really hoping we keep Marcus Smart -- he deserves to be rewarded, he's said he wants to be here & is too crucial to our bench -- but if all hands are on deck etc., it'll be the Celts coming outta the east in the finals next year -- after a 65-win-or-so reg season 😮

Thanks for the congrats Stephen.
Celts were unbelievable this year but they somewhat collapsed against Cleveland. And they did that with two star players (Irving and Hayward) not even available. That was really astonishing. Jayson Tatum is on the rise............next question is............between Irving, Hayward and Tatum..........who is going to be starting next year? Actually we know that Irving will so it's between Hayward and Tatum.
I agree, as long as they can stay healthy, Celts are likely to dominate the East next year. I would love to see a Warriors - Celtics championship series.
Even though I was raised a Lakers fan............it seems something is not right about the NBA when the Celtics suck.

The Warriors are crazy good--Paul Pierce knows what he is talking about. They'll be the perennial favorites for awhile--
The Celtics are on their way, and we'll see how they mesh next year. I think this is the last year we'll see LeBron for awhile, in the finals. Doesn't matter where he goes, IMO (or stays). Ironic that he mocked the IQ of the Cavaliers and stupidly punched a white board. Also--was his hand truly broken? That part has oddly not been addressed--he inferred it was without saying it was.
Really doesn't matter, Cleveland was totally outclassed. Houston will not get better with LeBron (yes I said that) to the point where they can beat the Warriors. Philly to me remains the most intriguing team because I see them having the most upside, particularly if they pick up a star player not named LeBron

As an aside, I would be quite surprised if LeBron does not go to the Lakers

Congrats to Ron-the future holds good things for the warriors-smart ownership, management, coaches and players...a great organization.
The celts,Stephen, have a bright future as well.
My knicks have an excellent coach and a terrible team...my adopted team over the last 15 years seems to be Lebrons teams....he’s a winner,a team player,a mega talent and comes across, for the most part,as a very decent guy.Perhaps as much as his hoops skills his charitable nature and his philanthropy are noteworthy.
Yet,all the negative crap about him over the years, the moronic rants about the refs favoring him when he is clobbered EVERY time he drives to the hoop, all the repetition of this and all the other nasty personal stuff for 15 years...
All in all despite a boring finals(after game 1)this was a very fun season...
Should be an incredible offseason as teams continue to try to figure out how to beat GS!

For starters, that is, following the preseason games/early in reg season, Gordon would anchor the second unit (Terry, Marcus S, Aron B., Daniel T), so that he can get his game legs back while playing w/a "2nd team" on a par w/most starting 5's
but anyways, w/Al, Kyrie, Jaylen, Jayson & Marcus M starting
a Very pleasant scenario that plays right into coach Stevens' hands
hopefully Fizdale is the answer for Knicks, dadof2 -- look what happened when Phila improved, they lit up the league, Knicks will too when they turn it around, just like we have over past couple seasons -- all those original franchises have fans everywhere
With Kawhi returning after sitting out last year -- LeBron to Spurs? A great player, Kawhi is now an unknown commodity -- but if he returned to form, he & James would complement each other well & make a challenge to Warriors -- again, ups to Warriors, it's them & everyone else, as they've proven once again
was surprised to read Warriors leaving Oakland for SF next year -- I wonder if they'll once again become the San Francisco Warriors (doubtful) -- paging Rick Barry & Phil Chenier, Nate Thurmond & Al Attles 😮 😛

Kawhi Has Decreed "LAKERS"
Will this compel LeBron toward them also
Will Lakers president Magic open checkbook for (what would be) 2 landmark contracts
Where would that leave Luke Walton as coach?????????? Spectatin', that's where, & doing the rotations
Don't know what Kawhi's hard-on would've been w/the Spurs, he, LaM Aldrich et al were really good -- but sitting out like he did, bailing on his teammates, now saying how unhappy he is while laughing all the way to the bank...…….Kawhi won't be listening to any coach, esp w/LeBron running the show -- he's a great player but I wouldn't want him on my team
They probably wouldn't renew IT either, but it's all hypothetical
you know Ball Sr. would dive into this three-ring circus & be the class clown/straw that stirred the drink --
for "Part II, Redux
Showtime Is Back!!!!"
in the bright glare & glitz of the neon LA lites etc

Kawhi Has Decreed "LAKERS"
Fine, but the Lakers would be incredibly stupid to ship out any of their considerable stock of young talent for a guy who missed nearly the entire 2017-18 season with an injury. Article I saw talked about them packaging Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle maybe another or two for Kawhi. No........No..........NO is all I can say. I hope Magic is not that stupid and I certainly don't think he is. We are talking two guys who can REALLY play in Kuzma and Randle. For someone whose career could possibly be over?

His issue would be rust more than injury -- they called it tendiopathy, then "injury management" the rest of the time -- milkin it to the point of breach of contract in my view --
the stories currently on espn about "Celtics trade possibilities for Kawhi" are the same as your post about Lakers Rob -- ridiculous -- Danny's done his homework, we're good to go for next year -- no way will he go the "anytime a player of his caliber is available, you have to make a move" route
If Popovich retired & they made Manu & Tony Parker co-playing coaches, that would both compel Kawhi to stay, & Lure LeBron too -- those guys have been in SA for 40 years combined & know the league upside down -- a Leonard/LeBron pairing, in tandem w/Aldrich & the hypothetical player/coach format, would really fly in SA, more so than LA --
Pop has done everything, only Red & Lenny Wilkins have done more -- didn't seem like Kawhi was a malcontent/headcase b4 the quad tendiopathy came along (also a new group of 'advisors', Spurs have said)

I don’t want Kawhi anywhere near the Lake Show. His act reminds me of Derrick Rose, who clearly didn’t even like playing. Either retire or don’t. But to BS your way through sitting around well after becoming healthy is pure nonsense, and unfair to all their teammates who GRIND through that season.

OMG say it ain't so Nick........

Not the best judgement obviously, but he speaks for more than just himself I'd guess -- hopefully he's not vilified/castigated/heaped w/condemnation while being run out of the league etc
those guys are on the go 24/7 -- like Willie P said in his book, a blast here & there helped him get his work done
-- as a stimulant & a little candy to look forward to occasionally, 4 instance, following a long road trip, or a quick-rip prior to the 2nd game of a back-to-back after a night of travel & very little real rest -- probly the same not just for Nick Young but for Many in the league
in this political anti-climate, Nick might find it hard to get a job now -- hope I'm wrong, but...

Damn straight he is out of work..........and he should be if he is THAT f***ing stupid.
Truth is though, Nick Young means a guy who can come off the bench cold and hit a bunch of 3's for you............likely a guy like that will find a job no matter what stupid-ass thing he says.
NBA owners have an image thing that they have to keep going for their fans. How does the team look to a couple with two kids when one of your players is publicly advocating coke use? I can almost guarantee you that Warriors management will ship him, and soon.

I don’t want Kawhi anywhere near the Lake Show.
LeBron to San Antonio, that will fix KL's "issues"

Yes it would -- still can't stomach him holding out last season, but the idea of him & Aldrich playing at the level they did b4, w/LeBron in a more playmaker, G/F role -- James has gotta like that scenario -- however, Kawhi, a great player, has compromised his credibility in the league, something LeBron -- a gamer thru-and-thru -- would have to consider
