Musicians in the movies, actors in music

What about John Travolta singing "Gonna Let Her In"… 😛
If you have time to kill…

Gregg Allman in Rush! He didn't say much but he did a good job as the drug lord of small town Texas.
His scenes were great.
Dwight Yoakam is a very good actor and great musician.

Dug up this old thread because I saw a bit of The Big Lebowski the other day (one of my all time favorite movies) and was reminded that both Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Aimee Mann are both in that movie.
Flea is one of the Nihilists and Aimee Mann is one of their girlfriends.

Man, who doesn't absolutely LOVE The Big Lebowski? Well, maybe Don Henley...
No surprise considering how much the Coen Brothers celebrate music. Just look at O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Inside Llewyn Davis - Chris Thomas King and Justin Timberlake, respectively, and great soundtracks.

To be in musical theater, you need a really good voice, and some acting chops, so maybe some dual talent types come out of that field. If i recall, Phil Collins was a child actor before making it in music. Maybe that's Kevin Bacon's deal? I know he tours with his band, as does Billy Bob.
Madonna and Cher both had acting careers after singing. A more interesting one is Jeff Bridges. He played a singer in the film Crazyheart and then took to touring, doing some songs from that film too.
The Blues Brothers?

Oh, and Roger Daltrey! He was in some films in the 70s, but also just a few years back, he was playing Scrooge in "A Chrstmas Carol" in NYC.

Or Don Johnson 😮 😮
Can't help but bounce back to Ringo, the travails of a renegade cowboy as spoken/sung by Bonanza's Ben Cartwright (Lorne Green)
I think he co-wrote this tune with Dickey...

May be a stretch but Jeff Healey was famously in Road House, as the house band at the bar, but he also had a minor speaking part.
It's more of a stretch than another one from that movie: John Doe of X is a very good actor (he played the guy who gets fired but thinks he can have his job back cuz his uncle is the bad guy) and has done a bunch of movies.
And Levon gets mentioned but Robbie did a nice job in Carny.
And nobody mentioned Bob? His turn as Alias ("Alias whatever you want") is pretty hysterical as his stint in Hearts of Fire, to mention just two!
