One of those bands will get dismissed around here based on the name alone, I'll let you guess which one.

Well i discovered this band from an obit I read a couple o years ago. The obit was for Jason Molina the singer songwriter and bandleader of the Magnolia Eectric Co. Unfortunately Jason did not survive his alcoholism and attempts at recovery. He has left a great legacy of music however, this is one of my favourites....

Hello there Paul!

How are ya brother? Smile

Hey. What a coincidence that you would mention Jason Molina as this album that I just discovered a month or so ago is my current favorite:

Songs: Ohia -Magnolia Electric Company was Jason Molin'a last album under the band name Songs:Ohia. All future albums were released as a band project credited to Magnolia Electric Company.

Jason remained the guitarist/vocalist/songwriter and his songs are just incredible; dark, resigned, sad, and tragically beautiful . This was a man who had a lot of inner pain that he channeled into his art.

Please listen to these songs and let me know what you think. I'm sure you will be able to hear the Neil Young influence as I did...:)

Or....as this one is considered by many to be his best, you may have already...:)
