Music on Vinyl - Where It All Begins

Just picked up Where It All Begins - Music On Vinyl release.

Album is spread over 3 sides and 2 LP's. Album Cover is incredibly sturdy and beautifully done. One of the better Music On Vinyl packages I have. Sounds fantastic. I'd like to A/B with my CD copy, question is....
Anyone know how these were mastered or if there were re-mastered from original tapes/digital from a higher resolution than 44k.
Thanks in advance.

From Mark Klinghamer over at Music On Vinyl...
'"We received and used high res audio files (96 KHZ / 24 BIT) of the original master."

Also the Music On Vinyl release of 2nd Set, An Evening With The Allman Brothers, is also from 96/24 files.
I put a request in for 1st Set as well. Would make a nice set.

I pre-ordered this from Amazon around Thanksgiving with a delivery estimate of mid December.
I received 2 emails saying shipping had been delayed & I had to approve the delay or they would cancel my order or I could just cancel it if I didn't want to wait.
I finally got an email today saying it is about to ship.
When I pre-ordered it the price was $26.99 now it's up to $42.38.
I think those greedy bastards at Amazon were trying to wait me out lol.

I would love to hear from the techy people doing these type releases (digital masters put on analog vinyl) how they can take a digital format and restore the original analog inherent sound qualities (depth, warmth, separation) and have them present on a pressed vinyl. I do not believe it is possible, one has an A / D / D / A conversion. Once mathematically converted to a numerical bit stream from a waveform analog the final reconstructed analog is a "facsimile" of the original. Digital is a read / put values to / deconstruct / reverse / reconstruct process. I just "Don't get it" beyond a format people seem to like now. Sonic difference? nah....
