I'd like to see them augmented by horns. Especially enjoying the parts of Dub Side of the Mule with the Horn Section. Loved the Three Kings songs with horns too.

Too bad Lettuce is playing. I bet a combo of Lettuce and Mule on a funk, instrumental project would be great. Imagine Kind of Bird with Lettuce backing up Mule! Ha! That would be great! Use the Tonight Show Kind of Bird as a template.

I think it would be fun to hear some other Mule songs with horns too. World Boss could be cool with horns. Stepping Lightly. They could get really aggressive and try Bad Little Doggie, haha.

*There are a lot of really good jazz players in NYC (obviously). Could do some stuff with that.

Maybe get some female vocalists to chip in for a Motor Citiy Motown set?

I vote for a horny NYE.

I'd like them to do a tribute to the different eras of the Mule. First set newer material then work there way back to the beginning. It would be similar to what Rush did on there last tour.

I like the idea of bringing in the horns. Do that and have them do a Parliament/Funkadelic show.

I can see the poster in my mind. It's the cover of "Mothership Connection" but instead of George Clinton coming out of the flying saucer it's the mule.

MULETONES!

How about Kind of Bird with a good sized horn section a Hot Shot percussionist or two maybe another top drummer, and play it like the Tonight Show performance: get a Jazz trumpeter from the NYC Jazz scene to do the Doc Severensen part, then one or two of the top jazz sax players and let them solo over the "Dickey lead part" with a nice accents-progression from the horn section behind them? Too bad Tommy Flanagan isn't still around. Get a piano player like him and maybe some sort of special strings section ala' James Cater's Chasing the Gypsy album for the "slow ending solo"? Treat!

I have to say, I think that would be phenomenal.

Keep the Gypsy Strings and horns for Captured?

Continuing that you could keep the jazz guys out there for some of the Sco-Mule material, Things Ain't What They Used To Be, Stratus, Tom Thumb, Freeway Jam. Those would do very nicely.

I bet they could do a nice take on some jazz standards too. I tight horn section - two or three or maybe a horn section with solos by the aces - on Milestones would be interesting. My Favorite Things (obvioulsly), Four On Six (Wes Montgomery- guess you wouldn't need the horns on that one), ... not sure what else but I am sure they are Plenty that would be fun.

Mule with a top horn section and the aces of the NYC Jazz scene is my vote.

MuleTones for NYE!

Maybe a Bill Evans augmented Sco-Mule would be nice. I have been at the last 10 or so MYE shows at the Beacon and am always excited wondering about what the theme will be! The last couple of years with Krieger and the Doors music and the AC/DC show were two of the best.

Personally I would be perfectly happy with one more round of ScoMule whether they do a theme or not. Since they are doing ScoMule in Jamaica why not do it for the NYE run as well? I know most people like a one off show on NYE but those ScoMule shows were sooooo tasty. I would love another Dose of that and they wouldn't even have to rehearse for that.

That would be good since I couldn't make any of the ScoMule shows and already have a trip booked to NYC for NYE.
