Looking forward to a good long weekend of Gov’t Mule. We got Montreal on Sunday night and Toronto on Tuesday (excellent seats for that show). Really wanted to squeeze in Albany, a Mule A Ween show would be something to see but time & money ran out. I have a feeling the Albany show folks are gonna have a special guest sit in. I really like the ‘Evening with’ shows, they really stretch things out. Hoping to hear some stuff I haven’t before. Anyone know if they are working on a new record? Maybe hear a test drive???

Saw them in Utica back in August, after a long rain delay they put on a great show if not short by Mule standards, but great just the same. It’s nice to have them playing relatively close to home this time.
Anyway to those of you who are catching any of the shows on this leg, enjoy
I'll post some vids / pics if I can get some good ones

😉

Nice the Binghamton show is an "evening with" show.

I highly doubt a guest though, nobody else would be in Binghamton.

Hope you had an awesome show Sunday night, Breezy. Smile I'll be at the Danforth Tuesday night and like you, we've got great seats: 2nd row, center, Mezzanine. I'm hoping to hear some Traffic! Did you get some Traffic at your show? And can you tell me please what time they took the stage? (Doors at 7 pm.) Thx!

Mule-O-Ween was great!

We were at the Utica show, I was told they only dropped two songs from the set list.

I would have done Binghamton if I hadn't already gotten tickets for Rochester and we have Dave Mason in Ithaca Friday night.

Hey Ladymule
Yes Montreal was a great show last night. They went on about 8:30, I’m not really familiar with a lot of Traffic material other than their popular stuff so can’t say they did any. They did do a great version of Goin’ out West. Anyway home for a goodnight sleep, heading out in the morning for T.O. We’re in balcony JJ. I’ll have my Mule skull T on, give a shout.
Enjoy the show

Breezy, are you in the center, left, or right balcony?

Thanks for the start time info. Smile

The Montreal show was great. Lots of old Mule tunes. Danny was low in the mix and none of the "duck" sounds that he often uses. Sounded almost like the trio again at times with Jorgen louder and busier than usual. At least to my ears.

1st Set
Bad Little Doggie
Mr. High & Mighty
Brand New Angel
Left Coast Groovies
Which Way Do We Run
Stoop So Low >
Devil Likes It Slow with It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) tease
Whisper In Your Soul
She Said, She Said >
Tomorrow Never Knows

2nd Set
Thelonius Beck
Need Your Love So Bad
Doing It To Death with How Many More Years tease
I Believe To My Soul
Painted Silver Light with Dolphineus tease
Broke Down On The Brazos

ENCORE
Hope She'll Be Happier >
Going Out West with Day Tripper & Les Brers In A Minor Teases

I flew up to Montreal for the weekend from NYC principally to see the Mule and to also hang out in the city. Caught the Canadians/Leafs game the night before and went immediately to the Corona Theatre to see Stiff Little Fingers who were great but performed to an audience that was small with the balcony area closed.

Contrary to that, the Mule pretty much sold out the place. I sat in the 2nd row of the balcony and I had a different reaction to the show. First off, the sound was a mess at the beginning. The night before I was in front of the stage where the sound was good but noticed that if you went underneath the overhang, the sound was all over the place so I was not surprised.

During the first set, it looked like Warren was having problems with his amp and Danny kept on looking at the sound guy who was working on the stage. I thought the first set was tentative almost as if they were recovering from the night before. The second set was much better with the band really beginning to catch a groove during " Need Your Love Bad".

But in the scheme of things I thought this was one of the weakest Mule shows I have seen. Shorter than usual and a little bit off. I still had a great time as Montreal is a terrific city to visit.

Cool to see Stiff Little Fingers mentioned here. Their first two albums (Inflammable Material and Nobody's Heroes) are still in my Top 10 of old school punk records. They were the first recording artists / foreign band i ever saw live which was back in 1980 or 1981.

The Corona is a funny place for sound. Never go to the balcony. 😉

Sounded great down below and straight on. Off to the side and it gets messed up. The only glitch from where I stood was Danny being so low but that works for me.

We all here it different I guess. Left Coast Groovies was off the charts good. The Beatles tunes too. For me the 2nd set smoked from the beginning.

As Spirit of the West once sang, Home For A Rest!!!!!
Back to back Mule shows, takes a lot outta of fella my age.

Go see this tour! they are on fire. They are playing a lot of the old stuff with some of the newer material thrown in.

As good as both were, I have to say the Toronto show was the best I’ve ever seen them. Great venue even if their beer selection sucks and is way overpriced. However I did meet Ladymule and that was cool, always nice to meet folks from the site
Montreal there was minor issues with sound in the first set, but all was worked out by the second set. I loved Devil Likes it Slow and She said She said w/ tomorrow Never and especially Goin’ Out West

Not one song repeated between Montreal and Toronto. Awesome
😉
