Well i'm back in Australia and decided to take the bus to Sydney from Canberra to see Mule. I wanted to see Bob Plant at Sydney Opera House but tix were $400. LOL. Mule was only $82 including fees. If anyone else is gonna be there I'd be happy to have a pre show beer with you.
Mule is definitely more bang for your Aussie bucks.

I'm not familiar with Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real but after announcing he really wanted some good aussie weed he really tore it up. He sounds like his dad, other than being more of a rocker, but you can hear it. They did one cover i think, Paul Simon "Diamonds on the Souls of my Shoes". I did get to meet the band out in front of the venue. Really nice guys.
Mule tore it up too. Maybe 200-250 people. Really small place. Lots of old guys, LOL. Met a few guys there and talked music. They used to get some really cool shows down there back in the 80's/90's. Anyhow here's the setlist

omigod Legalize hemp- I did not read your post correctly the first time. i ( mis ) undersood you to mean you were going to a Canberra show.
I was at the Sydney show at the metro theatre and would have been very excited to meet a fellow HTN poster there.
One thing though, for the benefit of people reading who might think the crowd numbers were down - I feel that you have somehow underestimated the crowd there. The Metro holds between 1700- 2200 people. I would say it was about 90% full ( mostly guys over 50 years old as you say ) so there would have been about 1500 or so people.
I saw Govt Mule's previous Sydney show in 2014 at the Enmore Thatre. Both shows were equally good IMO. tHAT IS TO SAY, EXCELLENT.
I was standing dead center about 2-3 people back and was wearing a black ABB shirt from 2003. Maybe i underestimated the crowd size but i didn't think it was that big. I met a few people at the show. Where were you standing/sitting?

I was a little behind you and more towards the right hand speaker stack. i had a distinctive hat. on its called a newsboy in the US. Worn in the 70s by Curtis Mayfield / Donny Hathaway and Lowell George on some album covers.
So bummed we did not speak !i
Maybe next time. My girlfriend was at that show in 2014.
