MOJO's `How To Buy The Allman Brothers Band'
Nice to see a 2-page spread on the Brothers in a British mag. They have listed a `how to buy'
numbers 10 to 1. Hard to quibble with the top five. But I would have had `Enlightened Rogues'
instead of `Hittin' The Note' and I certainly would have inserted `Play All Night' (Beacon 1992)
instead of `Peakin' At The Beacon'. But that's just me. No, I'm not going to list them all. Don't
know if it is on-line or not. Nice side-bar about Galadrielle's book there as well. It is the 9/18
ish with Prince on the cover (Paul Weller in the UK).
Can't seem to find a link.
If someone wanted to get their most bang for the buck with ABB music, but no studio compilation/greatest hits type collection (live albums count)
1. Eat a Peach (deluxe edition if you were only going to have 1 ABB release)
2. At Fillmore East box set
3. Brothers & Sisters box set
4. Play All Night
5. Idlewild South
6. Cream of the Crop
7. IRSA Acoustic Disc
8. Allman Brothers Band
9. Hittin the Note
10. Where It All Begins
Yep, think that would be my 10 if I were only going to have 10 releases. Of course, the box set releases aren't cheap.
1) At Fillmore East
2) Eat A Peach
3) Idlewild South
4) The Allman Brothers Band
5) 7 Turns
6) Shades Of Two Worlds
7) Hitten The Note
8) Where It All Begins
9) Enlightened Rogues
10) Brothers & Sisters
