I went to see a rare collection of mechanical instruments last saturday afternoon in Bowral, NSW, Australia. It was fascinating. The collection included a range of instruments from 1850 to 1950. The collector rarely shows the full collection and i was one of about 50 people to see it. It was a real treat to see these amazing instruments in action.

Really boss thx hemp
Must have been a magic mystery tour
How many thousands of hours went into restoring those machines I wonder?

Not entirely mechanical but here is a strange one we have all heard of but likely never seen, the hurdy gurdy, very popular around Renaissance, kind of a mechanical violin

I saw a Hurdy Gurdy played in Denmark during a jousting exhibition.
