Tour dates below. If I was anywhere within a day's drive of the upcoming Mahogany Rush tour I would go!

Frank Marino remastered all his material himself in the early 21st century - his own small label. still rockin, barnstorming small venues.

I just rediscovered Strange Universe, had not visited in ages because I dont do vinyl and the commercial cds were lackluster.

Was amped to find Franks remaster is STELLAR! Unreal, great work. 20$ ship included - only can get direct from Frank Marino here, the one at Walmart is not the remaster: https://mahoganyrush.com/order.htm

"Child of Novelty" 1974, excellent, Frank's 2006 remaster is stone groove, just picked one up from his site - don't mind me, just enjoying my one man Mahogany Rush revival, envying you East Coasters who could go hear Marino in April, but won't because you either never heard of Frank Marino or forgot, or think he sucks. Gonna be good gigs, in nice small places, no competition, stress.

My first job out of college was in a ticket office.

On St. Patrick's day, 1978; we had a show that was headlined by Mahogany Rush. Van Halen and Journey were the opening acts.

The promoter gave a green beer to everyone that was of age.

Less than 4000 tickets sold in a building that held about 10000.

A little more than a year later, both Journey and Van Halen were headining stadiums.

Sure wish they were headed out to the Pacific Northwest. Never got a chance to see Frank, but I used to be on his forum page, as I am a fan. I played that live album til the needle wouldn't catch a groove anymore. King Bee and Johnny B Goode and Purple Haze were some of the most interesting versions I had heard. I would love to see him!

For sure, hit British Columbia then tour down thru - Vancouver BC, Seattle, Portland, Eugene have always had a strong Jimi cult, lots of youngsters too would be all over Frank's Hendrix-school style. I bet he would be blown away by his reception up here. We gotta get the word out to him somehow.

btw@aj if Frank's 2006 remaster of Live is anywhere near as sweet as remastered Strange Universe and Child of Novelty it ought to be excellent - big fat sound.

Spent lots of hours of my mouth either watching Frank, listening to Frank or trying to learn the guitar parts.

The guy can play like the wind for hours.

A friend going back to my teens has played guitar with Frank for years whenever he gets the urge to tour. Mick Layne is his name. He is in the video with Frank. Frank doesn't give him much solo time but he is a great guitarist himself.

I was at that show, my first concert was the first Cal Jam at the same place. Ontario sure was different back then.

This just in from Frank Marino:

Statement from Frank Marino regarding the 2020 Tour Dates:
Because of the current situation with respect to public health, and the desire by so many to limit the possibility of further interaction for a little while, we've decided to postpone our upcoming tour until some time after Labor Day (September/October).
The promoters and venues have been very helpful in setting things up so that we will essentially be going to most, if not all, of the same places. They have assured me that all tickets currently being held will be honored should you wish to hold on to them. Of course, I'm hoping that many will. They have also asked me to add extra dates in some of those cities because they were sold out and they wanted to give many
others, who had tried to get tickets but couldn't,the ability to go to the show. Under the previous tour plan we were not able to add shows due to scheduling.
All the new dates will be published within a very short while. Some are already done, and I expect that the list will expand over the coming days.
In making this decision, I also considered that I had received quite a few emails from people in other countries who had been planning to attend some of these shows. Obviously they would have had a very hard time doing that during the present situation.
One other thing that concerned me was that, as most of you know, I really like to meet people after a show and chat a bit, when possible. This would have been certainly not possible under the circumstances. So I'm hoping that, by the fall, we will have all come out of this without needing to worry about such things.
I sincerely hope that all of you keep well and I really hope we get to see you all when we resume.
Peace, and God Bless you all,
Frank

Foregone conclusion, but thanks for posting. Cool to hear the strong level of interest - sold out gigs, people flying in from other countries.

And très cool personal message too.

Mahogany Rush now officially #1 on my list of guitar rockers I have to hear.

West Coast 2021 Frank!

They don't tour often so if you get the chance, I would take it.

Frank Marino is one of the many artists that have wanted to buy my Les Paul back in the early 80s. Even as the offer increased the answer was the same - Not For Sale - It Is Magical.

I could find a live version of this but if anyone wants a guitar workout then try and keep up here. It is obvious here to see the influence that he had on everyones' favorite ABB fill in Zakk Wylde. He lifts tons of stuff from Frank Marino.

This is definitely a workout.

How was Marino aware of the axe? He must have played it to be after it.

Frank and I are both from Montreal and yes he is one of the few that I let play her. I don't let many people touch her to be honest. She complains to me later. I tuned her some time in the 70s and she is still in tune. New strings automatically just wind themselves to pitch. (Well power drill helps speed that along.)

Black Les Paul Custom that plays in the wind like chimes. It defies physics and rumor has it that it was made out of the Tree at The Crossroads. That it is The Guitar sent from Heaven to battle Satan. God did rest on the 7th Day but first he planted the seed for that Tree.

I am not sure if that is the origin of the wood is true but I do know that I have never played a Les Paul as nice as mine and I have played many. Most of them beautiful instruments but not even close.

My Guitar will one day played a chord that saves humanity. I don't think it will be myself that plays it but who knows? God works in mysterious ways.

Now is good a time as any, might get lucky and hit THE CHORD !
Probably not a D minor "the saddest of all chords".

I had tickets to the New Bedford show.
The venue emailed me regarding the new date.

A Message from The Vault Music Hall at Greasy Luck:

Due to the current circumstances with The Coronavirus, Frank Marino is postponing his current tour. We worked out a new date with his agency, which will be on Friday September 11, 2020. Your existing tickets will still be valid for that show date. If you can no longer attend on that date, please e-mail us back to request a refund. Thank you and we appreciate you understanding.
