I'm a big Lucinda Williams fan.  I am really amazed at how well her voice has held up after a very severe stroke in 2020.  This was shot in Dallas only 10 days ago.  Lake Charles is one of my favorite Lucinda tunes, from her absolutely brilliant 1998 record, Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.  Keep it going girl............you are BRAVE!

Love her.

She opened for the first ABB show two of my kids ever saw.

We last saw her when she toured with Buick Six.

This video hurts.

If you didn't know she had a bad stroke you'd think it was another too drunk to be on stage moment.

This is also one of my favorite songs from the best album she's done.

Sad.

@photoron286:  For me it's much more courageous than sad.  And I'm amazed at how good her voice still sounds.  I give her many, many points for still being out there.

@robslob I saw her open for the Allman Brothers Band right after Jack Pearson quit. It was Derek Trucks and Dickey on guitars and it was good as Lucinda was good too in 1999.

I was disappointed Jack quit as the shows I saw in 1998 and 97 with Dickey. Jack and Otiel on the front line were, I thought , the closest to Duane, Dickey and Berry I had seen. Still feel that way.

Maybe it's I'm 77 years old and saw the original lineup several times and played Fillmore East and Eat A Peach so many times for now over 50 years, but to me the way the original lineup sounded is the classic pure Allman Brothers sound.

But if they hadn't moved forward with other lineups, the Allman Brothers would have ended in 1972 when Berry Oakley died.

Be honest with me!! Have you heard a version of Trouble No More by another lineup that is better than this????

@robertdee:  This is a thread about Lucinda Williams.  And I know that you saw the original ABB lineup and I know that no other ABB lineup can compare to that one.  Pretty much everyone knows that.  Why you think that you have to keep beating everyone over the head with that information is way, way beyond my comprehension.

Everything on those 1st 4 albums, 5 if you include Beginnings, occupy their own niche & imho are above & beyond/shouldn’t be compared to, later versions - we all love the ABB

have mentioned this b4 but the TNMore from Meadowbrook 2009 is The Top - Mr Allman sings it like a master, Great version from a top top show

on topic, we saw it w/BB King, Johnny Winter, Dan Toler, Leslie West - being rolled onto the stage etc -

mad ups to Lucinda Williams, she’s not letting an obstacle stop her, not when it comes to music🎼🎶

I saw her three times on the 1999 ABB tour and really enjoyed the shows. Detroit, Chicago and Indy. I picked up a few of her CDs. Really enjoy her gravelly voice. In 2018 I think it was she had this "LSD Tour", Lucinda, Steve(Earle) & Dwight(Yoakam). It was a lot of fun. A little interplay between the bands.

I didn't know about the stroke.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.
