Saw Lucinda last night ar Damrosch Park.It was an NPR special with brief interview and 5 song acoustic set for the Lincoln Center outdoors series.A moving set and stellar performance with the the added benefit of a very fine guitar player. There were 2 opening acts, both international acts and although not the music I usually like,it was quite enjoyable.Nice music on a beautiful evening!

Lucinda rocks. I've barely scratched the surface of her catalogue, but she is the real deal, a rootsy gutsy singer and writer. I have the "Gravel Road" disc - what's the next one to get?

I'm a fan of Essence(she played the title song last night...incredible) and for tremendous live music check out Live @ Fillmore West-disc 2 is kick ass...features the versatile and great sounding tone of the great Doug Pettibone on guitar.

Huge Lu fan here. Gravel Road might be her best but her self-titled from '88 is right there with it, I'd get that next. Great recommendation on the Fillmore West live album...great guitar playing and live sound. Actually found it on vinyl for the wife for Christmas and didn't break the bank (its hard to find and VERY expensive when it pops up). Just an awesome, dark album.
The great thing is...she's only getting better IMO. Spirit Meets the Bone and her most recent, Ghosts of Hwy 20 are both brilliant, sprawling albums; FULL of amazing guitar work. Those albums were pretty much written together...tons of original material. Lots of dark themes on mortality/life struggles...filled out with a weary, atmospheric dual guitar sound. Those are two of the finest efforts to come down the pipe in recent memory. She may be the finest female songwriter ever...we can't get enough

Saw her back in March at World Cafe Live in Philly. She was on fire. Had the great privilege to hang out with her afterwards. We hit it off and she just kept hugging me over and over again!. She was genuinely touched when I told her how much her music has meant to me over the years and how she walks the walk. Her eyes filled up a few times as we spoke. She is beyond talented, kind, humble, cool and very, very real. Her music has touched my soul for many years and she has personally touched my heart. She is tbe real deal and only gets better
