Led Zeppelin’s Expanded Three-Disc ‘Physical Graffiti’ Reissue Announced

Looks like the last week of February is the official release date for the expanded reissue of Led Zeppelin‘s classic sixth album ‘Physical Graffiti.’
Earlier today, the band updated its Facebook page with a new cover photo depicting an inverted negative-image take of the LP’s cover (mirroring the imagery used in the series). And now Amazon U.K. has pre-order information available on the reissue, including track listing and a release date — Feb. 23.
In addition to the 15 tracks found on the original album — spread out over two CDs, since the 1975 LP was a double — the reissue’s bonus material includes seven other cuts, all of them early or alternate versions of songs that ended up on the album. You can see the track listing for the bonus songs below.
The reissue will be available in a number of configurations, including a double CD featuring the remastered album in a replica of the original LP jacket; a Deluxe Edition including a third disc of unreleased material; a double LP remastered on 180-gram vinyl; a Deluxe Edition vinyl that includes the bonus material; a digital download featuring the remastered album and companion audio; and a Super Deluxe box that includes CDs, vinyl, hi-def download card, new alternate cover art, a hard-bound, 96-page book with rare photos and a print of the original album cover.
The additional material follows the pattern set by the previous five deluxe-edition remasters in the series. The band’s first five records mostly included alternate versions of familiar songs as bonus cuts, except for the group’s self-titled debut, which included a 1969 concert on its extra disc.
Led Zeppelin’s remaining two albums, ‘Presence’ and ‘In Through the Out Door,’ will most likely see reissue sometime this year, too. ‘Coda,’ the odds-and-ends LP that came out in 1982, will probably see release in the future as well.
Led Zeppelin, ‘Physical Graffiti’ Deluxe Edition Bonus Tracks:
‘Brandy & Coke (Trampled Under Foot – Initial Rough Mix)’
‘Sick Again (Early Version)’
‘In My Time of Dying (Initial Rough Mix)’
‘Houses of the Holy (Rough Mix With Overdubs)’
‘Everybody Makes It Through (In the Light Early Version/In Transit)’
‘Boogie With Stu (Sunset Sound Mix)’
‘Driving Through Kashmir (Kashmir Rough Orchestra Mix)’

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Thanks for the heads up as this is one of my favorite albums of all time so may have to spring for a vinyl and or CD version. Still remember when this came out in sophomore year in college. I wore out my original copy that year.
That being said how much longer can Jimmy milk the Led Zeppelin legacy by releasing remasters of the original material without putting out new music? Hell I would settle for some new live archive stuff but come on Jimmy enough already with the reissues.

I am looking forward to getting this. By far my favorite Zep album. Curious to see what the unreleased songs are like.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

the bonus discs have all been pretty weak. just rough mixes and what not. zep1 had a live disc that was all chopped up and edited

I would not be surprised if Jimmy chopped and edited the live disc as he is a perfectionist.
This is why IMHO we will never get any complete unedited live material from Zep as Jimmy is so picky.

Well, maybe I won't rush out to get it. I got II and wasn't impressed anymore than what I already have.

well a bootleg is out there of the unedited performance

I've not taken the bait on these reissues.
Althought the original albums sound awesome, the bonus tracks are somewhat lacking to me.
I've waited and listened on Spotify and ultimately decided, its's nice to hear maybe every blue moon, but can't justify getting yet another round of Zeppelin cd's
Now, had they released live shows (edited and overdubbed, still) I would have been more interested. But, alas ...

I like these releases, but I wish that the bonus discs was just a live disc from the tour from that album.
That's how I wish anyone who remasters/rereleases their classic albums would handle it. Give us a live disc with it.

The Problem with these reissues is that any real zep fan has it already on the countless bootlegs that are floating around.I have over 200.They have some live boots that are so good the local radio station used mine on the air and were flooded with calls looking for the CD.Check out Destroyer if you want good live. The live disc with 1 has been in my collection since 91 on CD.
PS
The DJ got in deep shit for playing my boots,

I may end up picking this up, if only because my current CDs of Physical Graffiti are scratched and worn and could use replacing. I've had that copy of that album for over 20 years, it had a good run, but In The Light skips and I can't have that 😉
In the same vein, I was delighted to pick up the remastered Zeppelin III vinyl, but part of that is because I didn't have that album in any format. Those songs aren't worn out on classic radio and don't appear on most Greatest Hits type compilations, so that is one Zep album you really have to own if you want to hear those songs.
But yeah, not much in the way of truly "unreleased" tracks on these recent reissues. Just alternate versions, different mixes, that sort of thing. If you already have a perfectly good copy of Physical Graffitti, unlike me, than you probably don't really need this release.

Yes I have it and it is a nice raw 69 show. It is just a shame Jimmy won't open the vaults but there are plenty of excellent sounding bootlegs from most if not all of their tours.

Thanks for the hands up
