Just had to share this
I needed to share this with people who would appreciate it...
I work at a school where over the course of the last 6 months I have worked on a project for a teacher to receive back pay. There was a problem with her original salary put into the payroll system years ago (before my time), and when discovered we tried to get back pay for her. Well after several months of back and forth with Union considerations, district concerns, etc., we got her a large amount (mid-5 figures) of back pay.
She was so grateful, and being the nice person she is, she vowed to show her gratitude to me for all the work I did for her. I expected nothing, as this was all in the course of my job.
Well, today she walks in with this large box and tells me that it is a gift from her for my work in getting her the back pay. I open the box and inside is a guitar autographed by Gregg, Dickey, Jamoie, Butch, Rook G. & Dan Toler. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. It's maybe the best gift I've ever received from someone, and all for just doing my job. I feel a bit guilty over this, as I know it cost her a nice chunk of change. To say I'm grateful just seems like so little for a gift so great.
I really just wanted to share this with folks here, as most of you can understand just how touching something like this is. I really am just overwhelmed.

Holy cow - wow - on both accounts, yours for "righting a wrong" and hers for such a thoughtful gift !
Very nice story, thanks for sharing.
Seems very much like a win win for both of you. Your dedication and hard work, even doing a job you're paid for to do, enriched her life. So in turn, she enriched yours. ![]()
Enjoy your guitar!
