Just goes to show....

you're never to old to "get it".

I always ignored Allman Brothers. Why, I haven't a clue. I'm 65 and now buying vinyl albums by them. Fantastic playing, fantastic music. What was I thinking back in the 70's??

I was late to the party too (figures!). Cheers!

Somebody in their mid 60's just "getting" the ABB must've just not been attuned to the culture and music at the time. I'm less than 10 years younger than this person.
When I was in high school, there were a lot of folks (including a few great guitar players) who didn't "get" the ABB because they associated them with the whole southern rock thing (i.e.: Lynnard Skynnard) and though of them as redneck music. I've ran into several of these types recently (especially the pickers) who actually became enlightened via Warren Haynes. They've gone back and reexamined the original music and slap themselves in the head often for missing it due to their closed minds.
Hearing from these guys reminds me that I was right all along! Vindication!
