The Brothers were hot as can be that particular Tuesday evening.

The last set of Mt. Jam>Afro Blue>Mt.Jam>Whipping Post was mindblowingly brilliantly spectacular.Layla was tha encore.

I was at that show, always love when they start the night with a rocking number like Guilded Splinters, I think 2004 was the year that had the jam before Trouble No More too. Stand Back was great with the dueling guitars ending out the song and I finally was able to hear a Layla encore.

That concert reminded me of a Beacon show and that evening was one of my favorite Jones Beach shows.

I was also at the show. I have the Instant Live CDs so I will check this jam it out tonight!

BTW, this was the first time Instant Live CDs were available at Jones Beach shows (and most other venues on this tour). I have every IL (or Munchmix) set from the Beach. Prior to this, I made my own recordings.

When Oteil strummed his first note of his bass solo (right after the drums solos), I would get up from my seat, and head down to the Instant Live booth to wait on line.... usually one of the first three or four people waiting. I'd listen to the rest of the show from the line, and by the end of the final encore, a huge line would form behind me. It was fun being one of the first people to acquire a CD! Smile

BTW #2: I was bummed that the ABB never performed Don't Want You No More/ Not My Cross To Bear at Jones Beach since the distant days of Dickey Betts (1999). Seemed like they always played those pair of tunes the night before, so they were out of the rotation for the night. 🙁
