Jessie Ed Davis Statesboro Blues 1967
Jessie said he had never played slide before. He used a Stratocaster, steel tube and regular tuning.
I can here the licks Duane Allman heard and thus the licks other ABB guitarists play.
Nice, long time no see Jesse Ed Davis - anyone here familiar with that recording he did with poet John Trudell, Graffiti Man, great work - he died not too long after that
Expanded and different but clearly borrowed from Jessie

Davis and Trudell along with other great native Americans are in this fantastic doc Rumble - The Indians Who Rocked The World including comments from Derek.

Graffiti Man! No haven't heard it but want to. I can't find much on Jessie on YouTube where one can see him live.
Derek seems to be tuned like Jessie sounds on the original.

WARREN PLAYS STATESBORO BLUES!
Bomb - Duane & BO would love all these takes - not swift about linking or I would the studio version, just listened to it & Taj’s - Similar-&-Stellar
"Skydog" a Bar band/Cover band - "Statesboro Blues"
NICE, in tone & playing that’s as tight to Duane’s FE version as it gets - dig that for sure & same Hot Lanta -
Been meaning to mention your sig pic of Duane wearing shades at the Warehouse - :Dnever saw that one b4! -

Jackie Boy Jack Pearson plays Statesboro Blues!
This is from memory, but I'm pretty sure that Gregg said in My Cross To Bear that Jack came the closest to Duane's playing of anyone he'd ever heard (or words to that effect). He also said that Dickey told him that if the ABB didn't hire Jack, he wanted Jack's contact info so he could take lessons.
