Jazz Sabbath
Great find! Thank you!
I like the Jazz Sabbath album so far. Whoever the piano, bass, guitar and drums are, they are top shelf musicians.
Didn't Allen Woody put a band together called Blue Floyd? Was it blues takes of Pink Floyd songs? Or something else.
Allen Woody (guitar) and Matt Abts (drums), Marc Ford (guitar), Barry Oakley Jr. (bass), and Johnny Neel
They have Volume 2 on https://jazzsabbath.bandcamp.com/ . The is also Brown Sabbath https://brownout.bandcamp.com/
@porkchopbob Thank you! That was interesting. And I liked it. Apparently I never checked it out. Surprising Allen Woody was not playing bass but electric guitar. The ES-335 type Gibson looks to be a 12 string. Then he has a Les Paul. Alan had an extensive collection of electric bass guitars. Probably owned a few electric guitars too.
It's Pink Floyd music indeed. Gov't Mule has done some Pink Floyd sets in recent years so Matt Apts had already rehearsed some Floyd songs.
Berry Duane Oakley does a nice job on bass and vocals. Johnny Neal on harmonica then on organ is good with good vocals too.
And Marc Ford is a better than average electric guitar player. Very clean.
Thanks man. It was nice to hear and see than band even though it was 20 years after they played.
