jaimoe speaks about new dickey tour

right on Jaimoe!

Very cool

Jaimoe is very cool.

Love Jaimoe, one of the coolest.

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Jaimoe is a cool dude. I was lucky enough to meet him during intermission at one of the Beacon shows years ago. I was in line to get a beer, and there he was. I said hi, shook his hand, and let him be. I always thought of him as being much taller.

"I was with the band when there wasn't no band!"
Billastro

He sure is a cool dude. Jaimoe would get dropped off at the Beacon then walk down to Starbucks before heading inside, he was always stealthy most fans never bothered him, I never said more than hi and kept on going.

I met Jaimoe in line at the concession stand up the hill form the Mushroom stage about 7 years ago. I said "they make you stand in line too?" He responded "sure, why wouldn't they" acting puzzled that he would qualify for any special treatment. I think he was joking but also very serious. It was a humble response as is the norm from him.
Nice comments there about Dickey, too.

I've only met Jaimoe once; last year at the Les Brers gig in Lancaster, PA. I had seen them the night before at the Fillmore in Philadelphia and Kirk West sort of helped guide me on how to get Butch and Jaimoe to autograph the back cover of my vinyl copy of the first ABB album (thanks, Kirk!)
I waited behind the Chameleon Club and eventually everyone came out the back door. I went up to Jaimoe and asked him if he would mind signing it.....he gives me a grin and says to me "How come you ain't asked nobody else to sign it? Why you picking on me??"
We both fell out laughing and he signed it Johnny Johnson X.
I love Jaimoe. What a great guy

My buddy and I were 2 people behind Jaimoe pre Beacon about 10 years ago. My buddy, a drummer in our band that covers a bunch of ABB tunes goes right up to J, introduces himself and gushes about how much we love the band and cover their tunes. He was so gracious. After paying for his coffee and bearclaw, he dropped a $10 bill on the counter and told the clerk to cover whatever we wanted to drink. One of my all time favorite interactions with a "rock star".
Long live Jaimoe. One of the coolest cats on the planet.
