This just happened half an hour ago: Was out driving around with my son, getting some groceries, Checking out the Christmas Eve vibes, maybe kind of blue since it is just us two this year, and also have been into the sugar. Talk Is Cheap Keith Richards on the cd. Got out to look at furniture outside the closed thrift store. An elderly black man asked for a jump start for his F150. We got it to turn over, shook hands he said his name was Charles and he had lived here for 20 years. Looked like he lived out of his truck, old army jacket, shopping cart, homeless vet maybe . He offered me a couple bucks for helping.. I said hey it was my pleasure to lend a hand on Christmas Eve -

He said, "Is it Christmas?"

I said, "Yes it is, Merry Christmas."

He said, "Then the place with the free trickle charge is closed. You take it easy, I'll see you around. Thanks for your help. Merry Christmas."
