This would have been a fantastic idea. Truly.
Several nights featuring the different lineups. Chuck/Dickey lineup? Then a Warren/Dickey - maybe even a Warren/Dickey/Chuck?
Finale show at the end?
This is what they should have done.

Sorry but that makes absolutely no sense unless they sold subscriptions so you go to all six shows.
The current version IS The Allman Brothers Band, and that's what's ending. The other "bands" have already finished. As much as I would like to see Mr. Betts perform with the band, to have three nights of Dickey without both Derek and Warren is silly.

It is well beyond silly. The single dopiest idea imaginable.

I think it makes sense for the current band to close out all the shows.

Sheep's idea is dopy and grand all at the same time! I do honestly think Chuck would be with them for most of these shows if he wasn't tied up with the Stones. I'm surprised Jack Pearson isn't the one exception to "no guests." Who wants to go pick him up in Nashville for the ride up?

This is just my fantasy sets. "in my mind", as I titled it.
That said, for me, it would be great. Honestly, I've seen the current lineup so much, it's now worn on me a bit and can see why it's ending. I kind of felt the same way seeing the Dickey/Warren lineup a bunch of times. There's so much much history with the band, it would be fun (for me) to see it played out, like my fantasy. I and we all know it will never be. However, I'm sure we'll see most of these guys on stage together again, just not as a touring band. I'd be surprised at Wanee or Peach, that all the solo bands are there and there's no interaction together, at some point.

How would this be "dopey"?
I'd love to see the Chuck/Dickey lineup at the Beacon. Other than Lamar, that whole lineup is still around. Likewise, I'd love to see the Warren/Dickey lineup at the Beacon again. As Al Paul pointed out in his WSJ article, they had a 19 show run at one point. The current lineup could finish it out but I'd love to see some previous incarnations again. I've seen this line up at the Beacon plenty. Nice way to celebrate the full history.
Unrealistic? Definitely. Dopey? I don't see why. Pick your show.

I am not surprised you would not get how dopey it is. But it does not matter as it would never have happened nor should never have happened.

Oh, you're a troll. That explains it then.

Whatever. I am not going to take offense at your attempt to insult me.

Sheep, your idea is certainly interesting. For this to have panned out fairly the lineup for each night's show would have (should have?) been detailed when the tickets went on sale.
What would have been more interesting would have been to see the demand for each show of each lineup - which show would sell out the quickest. Kind of an inadvertent popularity poll!

And Derek only gets to play three shows? Uh huh, as said a little late for this

That would work for me!

It might work if they packed all that into one night (as sets) instead of 6 different nights. But then you have the song selection conundrum - who plays on what, etc.
The current lineup works for me.

This whole chain of comments is way too funny from an outrageous standpoint and at the same time entertaining exploring the possibilities.
