If you are coming to Macon remember several things:

Those red mounds of dirt are not good for standing on to get a better view, unless you like the view from a hospital bed. Fire ants don't bite until one gives out the danger signal, then all of them bite. It can be deadly.

Fried chicken down here is considered finger food, if you use a knife and fork, everybody knows you aren't from around these parts.

Not only can you turn right on red after a stop, but if you are in the left hand lane of a one way street you can turn onto the left hand lane of another one way street (that is if it's going one way from your right to your left).

Don't go swimming in the river. There is a lot of quicksand down there, not to mention all the snags that could pull you under and keep you there.

Stay away from the oak tree at the end of the plot where Gregg is to be buried. It is covered with poison Ivy.

If you drive into Rose Hill remember that the roads were made for horse drawn buggies. Turns are tight and sometimes you can't see around the turn where it sometimes makes a 90 degree turn. Backing up on the smaller roads is almost impossible. Stay on the main roads as much as possible.

Gnats, mosquitoes, and ticks are bad this year. Bring bug repellent. If you are going to walk much, "don't forget to bring a towel", it's really muggy right now. Remember-hydrate.

Begin Edit:
I remembered that lane closures on I-75 South start just below Sardis Chuch Rd. If you see backed up traffic and are in that area, get off on Sardis Church, turn right at the end of the ramp, go through the all-way stop, and at the first red light you come to turn right. You're then on Houston Road (pronounced HOW-stun) aka Hgwy 41. Continue down to the stop/yield sign at Ga hgwy 49 and turn right, stay in the left hand lane. Turn off at the end of the left hand lane and you're on Hgwy 41 close to Middle Ga Raceway (stop and take a picture at the monument). Keep going straight (follow the posted limits, lots of police activity knowing that there will be a lot of traffic going thru) At the third redlight turn right and go about a mile and get back on I-75 South.

Safe traveling, and have your player set for Southbound and Whipping Post, with a little Liz Reed thrown in.

You never had TanDan as your tour guide. He drove through Rose Hill in his truck backwards.

I miss TanDan...

Met him at Rose Hill one day. I can drive it backwards too, but then again, like TanDan, I've been though there many times.
Try that going down a road a little over 8 feet wide, around a turn.

I've been on the tandan tour too and I certainly suggest caution when navigating Rose Hill--I just don't think it's ready for the amount of usage it's going to get real soon.
