Looks good to me. I hope there are additional shows but I'm begining to see Derek's point about not wanting to eventually sink the legacy by trying to do too much.
But a show or two every year as long as it's like MSQ would be great.
They came close to hurting their legacy in 1980, 1981 and 82. Fired Jaimoe, added a synthesiser, background singers and the band in early 1982 decided to stop and not do the third Arista album in the contract because the label was selecting the producer (John Ryan) who had just produced Styx and pressing for hit singles and a Michael McDonald/Doobie Brothers sound. That contract kept Gregg out of the studio for several years. Dickey said they backed the band out and refused to do another album because that wasn't their sound and the way they play. Butch said the chemistry was wrong and the record compay wanted us to sound like some pop band and write hit singles. They had Straight From The Heart in 1981 and it was over produced just like most of the album. Butch said he never plays the album. The one in 1980 was better but not by much except for his wife's painting on the cover.
