historical Allman Bros. places in Miami?

Hi, long time lurker here...
The wife and I will be going to Miami on the 25th of March to for 9 days...We'll be staying in Kendale Lakes.
Of course there is Criteria Studio (Hit Factory) and 461 Ocean Blvd, ... but is there any other Duane or Gregg history in Miami? Did they ever live there or hang out? (Ft. Lauderdale is close by & could get up there as well.)
I would be happy to get any tips of cool (smaller) guitar shops also! And funky out of the way places to eat.
What Miami clubs or bars would Duane have played at back then? Also, does anyone know the house Fred Neil lived at in Coconut Grove? I would like to discreetly pass by if possible.
I lived in Jacksonville in 1967 for a year when my dad got transferred there for work. I haven't been back to FL since.
Thanks much for any possible info,
jasyr

I know i"m new but thought I'd get a little bit of help here...

Miami is tough. The city has changed so much. The Grove is different; south beach is different. Most of the spots where the Allmans might have played is something else now, likely a condo. Not far from the grove, down by the marina, they did a show I heard a bootleg of from the 70's, near Scotty's Tavern and Monty's restaurant. The Cuban food is best in Miami. Go get some Cuban food at Sergio's on coral way or la caretta, there's a few. There's a couple of cool places downtown that has great live music where people are dancing and partying till the sun comes up. Can guarantee somebody, if not everyone from the band wandered into the deuce, a dive bar on south beach. Everybody wanders in there.

Not exactly Miami or historical Allman Bros related, but - I get emails from this place and have wanted to go, they get some good acts, including Butch's band:
Also saw this place on a food network show, have had it on my list to check out someday too:

Thanks !
We're off in a few hours and looking forward...

Miami is a completely different place than it was in the early 70s; that may have well as been a thousand years ago. Aside from Criteria, there is really nothing left from the ABB's time down here. All the venues they played have disappeared: Pirates World, the Orange Bowl, Sunrise Musical, Miami Arena, Tamiami Stadium - all gone. The only place they played that's still here is the Jai Alai Fronton on NW 36th Street. Saw dozens of shows there back in the 70s, and they still have concerts there to this day. The original stage is still in place, so it's cool knowing that Duane and Berry stood there. Otherwise, forget it. TK Studios in Hialeah is gone, and even the original house at 461 Ocean Blvd was torn down years ago. Living here now, you'd never know this city played a pivotal role in the career of the ABB and so many other artists, but that's what memories are for.
