On online fundraiser in support of the official release for the movie Here Comes Rusty, the final film featuring legendary musician and occasional actor Col. Bruce Hampton, has been launched via GoFundMe.
The movie was produced by the late Ross Smith and also features comedian and actor Fred Willard and musicians like Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, George Porter Jr. and Nikki Glaspie.
Proceeds from the GoFundMe, which was launched by Smith’s brother Hughes, will go toward the film’s final costs like music licensing fees so it can be officially released and be made available for purchase and online streaming.

It really is a funny movie. Col. Bruce as the manager of a dog track? You can't beat that for a premise.
I saw this at the Buckhead Theater as part of the Atlanta Film Festival a few years back. I hope they are able to distribute it more widely. Bruce was always a niche market, to put it kindly, but I know there are dozens, maybe even hundreds of people who would love this film.
