Hear Snippet of New Rolling Stones

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Thx for posting. Sounds fantastic - Mick's vox sharp, Keith good solid crunch, a Stones blues album, nice.

Thanks for posting! Unfortunately, not that excited after hearing that clip. The Stones have never been virtuosos but at least they were original and tasteful. That sounded like a guitar 101 12 bar blues.
Maybe I'm tainted after reading this article which makes some good points:

Seeing as how most people on the planet who like the blues would never have known what a 12 bar blues was if not for the Stones salvaging the form in the first place, it's kind of cool that they busted out a recording of blues, how it sounds when they do it, show us what's under the hood before they vanish. Let us hear some Rolling for a change, instead of Stones.

Ten seconds! Talk about a tease.

Having recently brought Mick Taylor out to guest on tour a bit a couple years ago - it feels like a missed opportunity for the Stones to record a blues album and not involve Taylor on at least a couple tracks.

i read this writer's reviews of Dylan & his call for Bob to retire...i wrote the writer at the time suggesting that he retire...here too...i like the clip & have never been influenced by critics or writers...i'm eager to hear the album-i read EC plays on 2 songs.

The Stones play the blues better than most. They are 50 years plus into their career; they don't need to innovate. They have given us hundreds of songs, much more than most bands have. They are having fun and inviting us to share the fun. If you can't enjoy them playing some chunky ronka ronka guitar and pitching a wang dang doodle, too bad for you.

It is funny the different perspectives people have on music. The reviewer thinks it's a bad thing that the Stones cut the record essentially live - with no overdubs in two days - that it was lazy. I, on the other hand, basically never listen to studio records at all because I think they are overproduced and sterile more often than not and lack the magic that happens when a good band plays live in front of a crowd. For me - the fact they put this down basically live is a huge plus. However, it's still not live enough for my taste - I'd rather yet that it was cut in 2 hours in front of a crowd.

Diggin' hearing the boys throwing down some covers, they are still capable of playing funky dirty blues, fitting to revisit these songs given they started their career doing blues covers.
Love to see them in a small club doing this material, boogity boogity!

I thought the exact same thing after hearing about the album and listening to that clip.
As much as I love all of the various styles of music they've played over the years, I enjoy their bluesy material the most.
For my listening enjoyment, this could turn out to be my favorite album they've done since Exile on Main Street.
