And create a Task Force within each police department that actually does something about the idiots who do nothing but set off M80's half the night for weeks.

Police in Florida were seen snickering & openly laughing at protesters as they shot at them, hitting some, using rubber bullets - it’s straight criminal behavior bordering on murder imo
Could such a task force have the authority to show the door to cops like that, or indict them them for attempted murder

Yes police officers who abuse their authority and the rights of citizens need to be weeded out. On the other hand, protesting is protected by the constitution. But NOT crime and lawlessness. Destroying statues and monuments and buildings and police cars and assaulting police officers, those people are criminals and arsonists and lawless mobs and should be criminally charged, jailed and punished. Even Confederate statues should be removed or reassigned by legal and peaceful means.

Two men I admire, Dr. King and former President Obama would never even spray paint a Confederate statue.

Fully agreed - the police officer shot & killed earlier today responding to a disturbance at the Home Depot parking lot in Toledo Ohio left behind a wife & 2 year old

....& by some loser holding a beer in his hand - who later turned his gun on himself
Things are very bad
But on this July 4 weekend, we celebrate (the best we can) what’s good about the nation - 245 years strong of liberty - the Constitution is sometimes cited as the greatest document ever written - Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty & Old Glory symbolize, as was said, the greatest nation on earth

First in war, first in peace & first in the hearts of his countrymen - George Washington, & imagine how those early settlers must have felt when the Father of our Country’s successors, John Adams & Thomas Jefferson, died on the same day July 4 1826 - & James Monroe 5 years to the day later - all 4 are memorialized in the Presidential Range in NH, the most magnificent spectacular mountain range in the land

& Silent Cal - Plymouth, Vt’s Calvin Coolidge, 30th President, the only one born on this day

The republic is strong, its system of representative government makes ours the greatest democracy on earth - Happy Birthday, USA
