To a man who I've always loved and respected, Happy Birthday to Dr. Martin Luther King.

A man among men, a person among persons. A man who I believe truly had his heart in the right place, who strove for equality of all regardless of creed or color.

Dr. King's contributions to society cannot be overstated or exaggerated. The world is a better place because of him, his voice and his dream.

My wife & I took our 3 kids ( ages 13, 11, and 10 ) to see Selma last night to honor the holiday and enlighten our youngsters that it isn't just a day where you stay home and play video games. Very good, but not great, movie. I'd put it up there with movies like Saving Private Ryan in that, although very difficult to watch at times, it's something every American needs to see so as not to lose appreciation for what we have.

If the actor who played King doesn't get at least nominated for an Oscar, it'll be a shame

Very well said.

I was eating breakfast at a local diner yesterday and the TV was on HLN. It looked like the conversation they where having was about if MLK was alive today would he tweet. I found it to be sad that instead of using the time to highlight what the man did to make this country better they wasted it debating something that doesn't matter.
