A new Mike Bloomfield bio is coming out this fall. My good friend, David Dann, has been working at this for many years. He's done extensive research and interviewed many of Michael's friends, relatives and bandmates. Guitar King, Michael Bloomfield's Life in the Blues, comes out in October. Smile

The author of the book, David Dann, has been invited to do an interview about "Guitar King: Michael Bloomfield's Life in the Blues" on that FM blowtorch in the New York Catskills, WJFF 90.5 FM. Thane Peterson, host of "Living Jazz," wants to talk about Bloomfield and the book, and he's asked David to bring in samples of Michael's music. He'll be sharing familiar Bloomfield selections from the Butterfield days, the Electric Flag period, and from Super Session, but he'll also bring along a number of never-before-heard rarities, sure to excite even the most casual Bloomfield fan. The show airs from noon to 2 p.m., EST, this Friday, Oct. 25, and streams live at wjffradio.org. A caveat – the station will be doing its on-air fundraiser, so there will be pitching. But there will also be plenty of chit-chat and some great music! Don't miss it!
