Karma is a bitch. Yes, it is a hoax and we are all sheep. I think that is what you said.

I don't wish death on anyone - it'll happen for Ted soon enough with no will or input from me.
I've known three individuals who have succumbed to Covid. All were better human beings that the Motor City Big Mouth. The virus is still very real and people are still dying from it. The former POTUS and his lemmings (including Ted) should be honest and forthcoming with their followers about their own experiences -including actually getting the vaccine. Trump should be ashamed for even attempting to get vaccinated behind closed doors. As a guy who use to post here once said, "Eff Ted!".

After reading Ted's comments about Duane about 48 years ago in Creem magazine (remember that?) I swore him off. Not that I ever cared for his antics anyway. Kinda liked that Amboy Dukes hit back in the 60s dare I say. Dbag Supreme if you ask me. Even though you didn't ... lol

@steved I read that issue. I actually still had it up until a few years ago. Seemed like Ted dissed most of the greats in that article. One that he he liked was Jim McCarty of Cactus. McCarty, Steve Gains and Bad Company's Brian Howe all played with Nugent at various points. I give Ted credit for having an ear for good sidemen.

Ted's just a blow hard....I take what he says work a grain of salt....who cares!? I'm suprised the Liberal Democratic folks that dominate this site feed into his click bate.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Oh please... and I'm surprised at all the conservative yahoos that fall for the silly and stupid things he says including his antics.

@stratdal I am not that ignorant and have more sense of mind to let anyones drivel drive my thought patterns right or left. I can think and decide for myself. Ted is a blow hard like I said and I don't buy into what he says.

I give him credit for one of the great titles of a live comp - Intensities In Ten Cities
anyone recall the horrendous ankle sprain he got at one of his shows - did a jump off an amp or something, boom - minor it wasn’t (all from memory here🤙)
Don’t know his music, dont have much for the guy off the stage - agree w/the blowhard description - self-absorbed - come back to earth Ted, you’re not that great
Who was greatah, the Nuge or Motahead - would love to see how long that discussion lasted b4 turning to fisticuffs😮😁😷
but yeah, what an irony - after all that typical macho bluster about covid - test result, positive

I remember seeing this on TV. Rather sure they are pretending and this is actually the hit record they had.
I had never heard of Ted when this was out.
Didn't dig his vibe when he went solo and didn't buy and records or go to any shows. I think the only time he got a lot of airplay on FM album rock was when Cat Scratch Fever was out.

I actually saw them play this song. Was a young teen and went to The Festival of Life (LA). A group I knew nothing about. The most notable thing was Ted playing two guitars at once. He was always over the top, I guess. Found out years later the guy was Ted.

Good for you. If I had to categorize, I am a moderate, I suppose. Feel pretty alone. But I have some very conservative takes on some issues, and liberal on some others. Therefore, I never agree with "a side". Mostly, I am square in the middle on most issues. Disgusted with all politicians, politics, and "The Left" and "The Right".

Posted by: @mikewestOn the bright side, he still tests negative for guitar playing.
Disagree. I've always enjoyed Ted's playing. Double Live Gonzo was my favorite back in high school. It's too bad he still acts and talks like a 15 year old but he's easy to ignore.

I remember National Lampoon's (magazine) satire piece on "Todd Nergent". I wish I could find it - funnier 'n a fish in a carwash!
I used to love National Lampoon ... even listened to the radio show in college. Had to buy a 2nd copy of the high school yearbook because somebody took my first one ....
I saw Ted back up Aerosmith when he came out with the blue album ... great show ... don't agree with him on many things politically and don't have any desire to see him today ... but he had a couple good albums - especially the blue one - with Stranglehold, Stormtroopin' and Snakeskin Cowboys...

"The National Lampoon Radio Hour" "HOUR". The show was actually only 30 minutes long - which often had local radio stations flooded with phone calls wondering and asking what had been done with the other 30 minutes. Just part of the National Lampoon zaniness!

He has gotten beat up on this site for several years. Pretty much all over politics. I, as have many others have said, try to separate the music from the political perspective. Two of my favorite artists, Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle come to mind. I disagree with many of their opinions but I still follow them and buy their music. Bruce never says stuff on stage while Steve is WAY over the top with his. I've grown annoyed going to his concerts.
Back to Ted, I have been seeing him for years and I think he can flat out play. I agree that the theatrics are over the top but come on, there have been many people that have made careers over that. Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, lots of heavy metal acts.
And I think he has been smart enough to surround himself with good musicians. Derek St Holmes is really good and the album he did with Brian Howe (Penetrator) is really good. I really like Little Miss Dangerous. Jim McCarty is another one as Rusty mentioned. If you can find anything by The Rockets, check him out. Used to catch him in blues clubs around Detroit.

I wish noted musicians, actors and comedians would stay out of politics publicly.
After several years of trashing Trump on TV, comedians finally stopped it. They are leaving Biden and his gaffs alone as they should.

Yes - I was going to mention that - I always wondered if it was really an hour and my station just didn't play all of it - took me a while to figure it out .... 😀

@lee An artists politics never bothers me, whether I agree with them or not. If you don't know their views before you go, that's your fault. Advocacy and activism have always been a part of the word, spoken, sung or danced. It's the way we have passed down history and legend. I find that the folks who say "shut up and play"only mean that when they don't agree with the view of a particular artist.
But as to Ted, I don't dislike him, I just don't find him to be a great player. He's okay at what he does, but a lot of the early stuff was mostly Derek (that's per Derek, who also now lives in Nashville). But I think that most of my view comes from growing up in Nashville and being friends and working with a LOT of great players over the last 40 years. There are hundreds, if not thousands of incredible players in town here. And they play everything, while Ted is pretty much a one trick pony. So, if Ted is on the bill for a show I'm going to or working, that's alright. But I'm not buying a ticket or going to a show that is a Ted bill, just not my cup of juice, nor would he be on my top 100 list of guitarists.

I think musicians are certainly entitled to their own opinions and politics. I do wish they'd keep in in place and perspective. If Ted Nugent or David Crosby want to play a RALLY or fundraiser for the candidate of their choice and in the process, spew their philosophies - that's fine. If they want to schedule a press conference and push an agenda - that's cool. I do kinda resent when these types go on stage at a show that I spent money to attend and just go off on a tirade. An aside here or there isn't so bad, but I've seen a few shows that became pseudo rallies. This is purely my opinion.

Totally agree with everything you posted.

How is it anyone's fault for not knowing someone's views on pretty much anything, politics or otherwise? Abortion? Environment? Race? Education? Pick a topic. And just because you don't want to hear someone's rhetoric doesn't necessarily mean you disagree with it. You just don't care to hear about it. Hence your shut up and play comment. I don't pay money for that. If I want that I would attend a rally or something. I understand artists and athletes have a platform that most don't but it doesn't mean I need to hear them.
Just my opinion. 😀

Musicians (or actors, athletes, etc) are citizens just like any one else. They're not monkeys who are just supposed to entertain you. They can say what they want. I never understand the "shut up and play" folks. I think those folks are upset because they don't have as big of a megaphone, but there are plenty of people out there who were born with one. Don't like it? Go make your own megaphone.

@lee I think he's just saying that if you're at a concert and you're surprised a well-known musician says something that upsets you, deal with it.

What about the person you pay to mow your lawn, clean your gutters etc. If this person stops mid-job and starts a 10 minute political diatribe - is that okay? There is a time and place for stuff like this. If a musician or actor wants to go on Oprah (for example) and go off on how they feel about political issues - I'm completely down with that. The Oprah Show (etc.) is a great venue for that. These days it is safe to imagine that anywhere from 47 to 53% of an audience did not pay $100 (>,< depending on artist, venue etc.) or simply does not care to hear anything other than the music that the artist is known for.

A musician doesn't work for you. There is no contract that determines what you and all of the other people will see and hear. Their performance is theirs, they have the mic, and there are no guarantees in life. I can choose to go see someone else next time if I'm really that butthurt about their opinion, or even leave the show while it's in progress. If people are afraid of musicians' opinions, they can listen to the record at home.
A contractor is hired to do work for you. There are terms. But if he wants to talk politics, I can ignore him, or tell him to stop and leave and choose to hire someone else. He's free to say what he wants, but should know it can affect his job security.
