Exactly --- and this says it's from 1991. When would Gregg have even played electric on those tours?

In the mid-70's I had one of these in my hands…the guy wanted $400…I had the cash in my pocket…didn't pull the trigger…three-pickup black beauty. Still kicking myself.

I can identify. In the early '70's I had a '63 Gibson SG Standard that I picked up for next to nothing. Let it go 2 years later. Would give anything to have that back. Regrets.

The prices for guitars, and amps back in the '70s were UNREAL. I came across a couple of bargains in my day. I still have the '59 Fender Jazzmaster . Bought this with a brown Fender Concert Amp for 200 BUCKS! The amp unfortunately was swindled by some character I knew back then. Also bought a '68 Telecaster for $150.00. Wish I never sold my like new '66 P Bass also.

Pretty ridiculous price even if it was a guitar that Gregg had actually performed with (it's not).

There was a similar 2-pickup black w/gold hardware Les Paul that Gregg performed with in the late 1970s (there's even a photo of Duane playing perhaps the same guitar). Even that wouldn't fetch an annual salary's worth.

It's funny as even when joking about it - I love that guitar so much I am not sure I would even take $37,000 for it. Would be crazy not to but would be like selling my wife or kids.

I think the order would be
My Dog Crash
Guitar
Wife
Kids

Just don't tell the wife and kids although they likely already know that.

Reminds me of a story Steve Martin told, I believe on Letterman. Steve was talking with Earl Scruggs' wife and she mentioned that they had just increased the insurance on Earl's banjo because they had recently had it reappraised. Steve asked, "How much did it appraise for?" and if I recall correctly she said $150,000. Steve said, "Wow! I have the same banjo! I didn't know it was worth that much!" and Earl's wife said, "No, Steve…that's how much EARL'S is worth".

Can't be the same guitar because its either a 89 or 91 and Duane wasn't around.....Most black customs are gonna look a bit similar

Where does anyone claim the guitar for sale in the OP could've been played by Duane.?

That's not the inference that i got from this either.
